FC: Lila Eileen Bailey 1st Year
3/18/2010 | 3/18/2011 Love You! | From your very first moments to your birthday. You had a beautiful first year.
I found out I was pregnant right around my birthday during the first part of July. You are the best gift I've ever been given. We went to your first ultrasound around 12 weeks and the tech said she thought you were a girl.. Dad and everyone had trouble believing there would soon be a Bailey Girl. We still had to wait to be sure, but she was right! We soon had a name picked out, using both of our Grandmothers' names. - Lila Eileen-
The first time we went to do the 3D ultra sound you were not in the right position and we had to come back again a few weeks later when you had turned. Even then you had very cute cheeks and liked to keep your hands by your mouth, and you still do..
I loved being pregnant and tried very hard to make sure you would be as healthy as possible. I loved to feel you moving inside. You sure had hiccups a lot and it was a funny feeling.
This picture was taken 2 weeks before you were born. A friend was studying to become a photographer and wanted to specialize in pregnant moms.
We had a wonderful baby shower over at Grandma Bailey's house and you were given a lot of cute presents! Many people were excited to welcome you into the world.
February 2010 | Cousin Kait made flower topped cupcakes and both Grandmas helped with the baby shower that Leae Brown through for us.
I started having contractions in the evening on 3/17. I told dad that I thought he needed to time me. They were 3-4 minutes apart. We called the doctor and left to go to the hospital.
You got a fever during labor so they had me wear an oxygen mask during the whole night and until you were born. Immediately after you were born, Dad and I were able to hold you, then they took you to the the intensive care nursery. You had a very sweet nurse that made you a cute name tag for your bed and a little pink bow for your hair. I spent most all of my time in there with you, feeding and holding you.
You were 7lbs 13 oz. / 20.5 inches long | The above picturewas taken 3 minutes after you were born.
You were born at 1:06pm on 3/18/2010. Both Grandmothers were in the delivery room with us and Grandma Rhoton cut the umbilical cord. | Grandma Bailey got your very first birthday cake and everyone that came to visit us in the hospital was able to have some. Dad bought me some beautiful roses and a soft pink elephant for you.
Dad took a picture of you right as we were getting ready to leave the hospital. Your brothers were not able to see you until we brought you home because they were not allowed in the intensive nursery. They both wanted to hold you and drew pictures of you and our family.
You were so good for your first bath and have continued to love being in water. | Before your bath After your bath
So sweet and precious! You did very well for your newborn pictures! Cousin Amy and our friend Malia both wanted to take your pictures.
Three Generations of Mothers! Lila & Alaenya Alaenya & Lucille Lucille & Lila | You were named after both Grandmothers that we love very much.
Your First Easter | We went to Grandma Rhoton's house and colored eggs and had a hunt with cousins. You wore an outfit that said, "worth the wait" from Grandma Bailey. She thought there would never be a Bailey granddaughter!
Uncle Chet did your baby blessing and, your Great-Uncles and some cousins were in the circle. Many of our extended family came too.
Trip to visit the Brewers in Portland | We had a fun trip to Multinomah Falls. We hiked to the top bridge with you in the wrap.
Your brothers were so good with you. They always wanted to hold you, play with you and to make you laugh. You loved them.
Summer trips to Tucson, the Lake and Pinetop.
Happy Halloween Lila! We had fun visiting friends and even went to see Grandma and the babysitter's family all dressed up!
This was our Bailey Christmas Card that we sent out to friends and family. | You fell asleep while Dad was holding you at a Children's Christmas Party for my work families.
Getting so big | Finally enough hair for a little mohawk. You look like you are saying - mom am I holding still enough? | You loved splashing the tub water until it was almost all gone and had to be refilled.
You and Dad at the Thomas the Train Day in Globe. We all went to the Spring Training Opening Game at the new Diamondbacks and Rockies Stadium.
You have always been such a happy baby! Everyone, everywhere saw you and wanted to talk to you and touch you. They especially loved your laugh and dimply chin when you smiled.
