Our journey through the pregnancy of little baby Davis. Our beautiful, sweet perfect little boy. We will always cherish our first 9 months together. Lovingly, Mommy & Daddy
It was a sunny day in July when I realized I might be pregnant. I ran to the store to get a test and Tyler was at home with me find out the results. I took the test and we both sat there anxiously waiting and 3 minutes later our lives changed forever. I was pregnant!
Watching you grow for 9 months... We thought it would be fun to take a photo each month to document the growth of the baby. It was so fun to see how much my belly grew month to month. It's such a miracle to see the changes that our bodies go through while a little life is growing inside.
Oh the joy of being pregnant and the funny things I crave... First was burgers with sweet potato fries which I love! I also craved cereal and yogurt. This has got to be the best part of being pregnant; I get to eat so much Food! Food! Food!
July 31 is a day I will never forget. We had our first appointment to see an ultrasound. Tyler met me at home and we went to the ultrasound office together. From the beginning of my pregnancy we decided that we were not going to find out what we were having. Since it was still too early to find out what the sex was we couldn't find out even if we wanted to. On the car ride home we were so happy to know that everything was ok and we feld so relieved...it was a great day.
We were so excited to tell everyone we were having a baby!
We decided not to find out the sex of the baby. It was tempting and we knew the ultrasound tech so we could've found out anytime. Everyone had all their guesses as to what we were having. Tyler thought we were having a boy and I thought we were having a girl. Most people thought we were having a boy.
After MANY nights of flipping through pages and pages of baby names, talking about the many options and looking at a list that we had started we decided to narrow down the names. We finally narrowed it down to top 3 names for girls and top 3 names for boys. We decided that Tyler would choose the name for a boy and I would choose the name for a girl.
I had been looking through many different designs for a boy and girl nurseries. I had made a folder for a boy nursery with all my ideas and a folder for a girl nursery with all my ideas on the computer. We decided to do the room in a neutral green color and then make the room gender specific once the baby was born. Once we found out we had a boy we decided to add cool boy touches that would grow with him as he got older. It's still an on going project.
The first time I felt you kick was both amazing and weird at the same time. I realized that I actually have a real human being growing inside of me. You had grown so much that your little legs and feet were strong enough to kick! WOW! I will never forget that first kick for the rest of my life.
Krystle was so sweet to throw a baby shower for little Davis. We had the shower at Mr.Mikes. The food was great and it was so nice to visit with everyone. Some were people I haven't seen in awhile. My mom and sisters threw me a shower for my family. We had it at Tyler's parents house and it was great to see everyone. I am very blessed to have such amazing people in my life. We have everything we need now thanks to all of the generous gifts we received. Cute clothes, diapers a diaper bag and many other great gifts.
We have been on this journey together for 8 months now and I can't believe I get to meet you in one month! It has been such an easy pregnancy I feel very lucky.
I have so many plans for us. Trips to the zoo, play dates with your friends, birthday parties, exploring life's wonders and watching you grow into a wonderful young man. I can't wait to show you my world.
Little Davis was not ready to meet the world on his own. So 10 days after his due date I was induced on March 18. Tyler and I went to the hospital that morning to start the induction. We waited and that afternoon contractions started. We had our doula Janeya meet us at home while I labored at home but at 9:30 pm we went to the hospital and I was admitted. I was in labor for 22 hours and then finally baby Davis was born at 4:16pm. It was amazing and a very emotional experience for all of us.
Davis was born 03.19.13 at 4:19pm He weighed 8lbs 1oz and was 21 inches long. We are so blessed to have been given this tiny little baby and are so grateful for this precious gift. We will cherish every moment we have with him.
