FC: Luke Thomas Johnson
Mommy gained about 30 pounds while little Luke was growing. He was very active, a big kicker. Katelyn loved to kiss her baby brother already! | The Pregnancy
 The Baby Room
We had so much fun putting Luke's room all together. It was definitely a combined family effort! Nana and Papa bought the crib. Grammie and Grandpa bought the dresser. Daddy did all the artistic touches (wall murals and framed pictures). Mommy got everything organized. Katelyn did a great job "breaking it all in" for her brother!
 July 9, 2011 | 8 Pounds, 9 Ounces | 21.5 Inches | 8:52 pm | Mercy Southwest, Bakersfield, CA | Luke Thomas Johnson
Mommy began getting contractions the morning of July 9. By 2:30 p.m. we knew we needed to go to the hospital. All of us hopped in the car. By the time we got to the hospital the contractions were very strong and Mommy found out she was dilated to a 6. Daddy took Katelyn home to hang out with our good friend Kelli Reibessel until Papa and Nana arrived from Henderson. Within an hour Mommy had the epidural and was feeling much better. By 8:30 the pushing had started and within just a handful of pushes our little one was born! Daddy cut the cord and Mommy just couldn't wait to hold him. We got to cuddle for a while, fighting back tears of joy. We were so overjoyed to have a healthy baby boy to love. | Nana and Pap brought Katelyn to the hospital the next morning to meet her new baby brother. I'll never forget that after just one night holding such a little baby, when I saw my girl I just couldn't get over how much older she looked. I couldn't hold back tears as I watched her examine her little brother. She was so excited and kept pointing at him saying, "baby!".
We took Luke home on Monday, July 11. Our first few weeks home were wonderful...and exhausting! Luke
