FC: The Turtle, The Fairy, and The Leprechaun by Shelly Ann Miller Carruthers
Once upon a nice day of spring in Ireland, there was a fairy named Sprinkle, a turtle named Sheldon, and a leprechaun named Clover. They were wonderful friends!
Sprinkle was a magical fairy, so she had plenty of fairy dust that could make anyone fly for a long time. Sheldon was sea turtle, and he loved to crawl along on the beach collecting seashells, and with the seashells, he made belt buckles. With these items in mind, the two friends waited for Saint Patrick's Day to give Clover the gifts on his favorite day.
So, when St. Patrick's Day finally came, the two friends presented their gifts to Clover. He skipped about the field and then they all flew, wearing the seashell belt buckles. Clover loved the gifts and thought they were very kind.
"Hey, Clover! Can I borrow some of your gold? I want to paint a picture of Leprechaun Heritage for my art class." Asked Sprinkle. "No!" Clover replied selfishly. " May I borrow a four-leaf-clover to give me good luck on my swimming test?" Asked Sheldon. "No!" Clover replied again.
"If you won't share, Clover, then we won't be your friends!" Sprinkle exclaimed. Sheldon nodded his little green head in agreement, and they stomped off angrily.'What did I do!?!" Clover thought. Confused and angry, he went home to consult his Mother.
When Clover got home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rainbow were sitting in the family room. "Mom and Dad, I need help. I wouldn't let Sprinkle or Sheldon borrow my things, and they got upset!" Clover wailed."Cheer up, Clover. You just need to share." his Mom explained. Clover wiped his eyes and looked confused. "What does 'share' mean?" Clover asked. " It means, to let others use your toys and things, Clover." his Dad told him. And with that, Clover went to try sharing.
Clover went out to seek his friends, and found them at the field where the three of them always played at together. He could see that they were having a lot of fun. Sheldon was letting Sprinkle slide off his shell, and Sprinkle was letting Sheldon use her fairy dust to fly. Clover tried not to cry as he realized that he had made his friends upset. Clover walked up to Sheldon and Sprinkle, took a deep breath and told them how sorry he was for being selfish, and that they could use his four leaf clovers or gold any time they wanted. He waited for a moment for their response.
Of course, Clover's friends forgave him, and they stayed friends throughout their lifetimes. Each friend grew very old, and changed through time, but they never forgot that everyone should share! The end!
