S: Two More 2 Love 2010-2011
FC: 2 | Two More | Love | 2010-11
Before.... | Before there were 3 beautiful boys, we had lots of sleep and fewer white hairs. Little did we know how our world would change forever....how lucky we would be.....
Your daddy and I found out in January 2010 that we were expecting two bundles of joy. I will never forget the moment Dr. Engel told us, "Everything thing is fine...although there are two." I felt as if the table I was lying on was going to collapse and all I could hear were daddy's giggles in the background. Sheer panic set in. My mind began to race....we would need a new car. We would have to move. Did God really consider who he's handing over two babies to?? I guess he did. He only gives us what we can handle. Daddy told me everything would be okay and so I believed him. | Two??
Sneak Preview | Ultrasound at 13 weeks | Who's Who?? | Ultrasound at 21 weeks
“I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much.” - Mother Teresa | 36 weeks along
In an effort to have Carter stop sucking his thumb, we told him that his little brothers would need them soon. So, he literally gave them his thumbs....but not for long!
 And then there were....
Aiden Jason Sagan Born at 20h22 Weight: 5 lbs 9 oz Height: 19 in. | Benjamin Nicholas Sagan Born at 20h33 Weight: 6 lbs 5 oz Height: 19.5 in.
Blessed | My water broke at 3 a.m. --just like it happens in the movies. I hit Daddy on the shoulder and told him it was time! I was so relieved, joyous and frightened all at the same time. It was a long day. I was stuck at 4 cm for most of the afternoon. They even mentioned the possibility of doing a cesarean. Finally, when you were born by regular birth, I felt such tremendous relief and pride. The biggest accomplishment of my life. How lucky am I to have been blessed with two more beautiful boys?
Just a few of those who came to visit you at the hospital after you were born: Nana & Papa, Nick & Ty, great-grandma Rooney, Nanny Higginbottom, Auntie Lucy, & Grandma
A Big Brother Now | Carter will be an amazing big brother. A little jealous at first, but loved his brothers from the start.
Bath Time! | This was your first bath at home. These pictures were also my first indication that you were most likely identical. No need for genetic testing here. Can you tell who is who?? Hint: Aiden is the slimmer one.
What's in a Name? | Aiden: \a(i)- den\ a variant of Aidan (Gaelic), and the meaning of Aiden is "little fire". You were named Aiden Jason by me. I picked Aiden because I loved the meaning of your name. It is so appropriate. Since the day you were born, I knew you'd be like fire..you have such presence. I wanted your middle name to be after someone that means the world to me... hence, Jason.
Benjamin: \b(e)-nja-min, ben-jamin\ It is of Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Benjamin is "son of the right hand; son of the south; son of my old age". Ben, you were almost named Justin. Daddy decided at the last minute, before you were born, that he didn't like that name! He suggested Benjamin. I was relieved. I love your name...in fact, I wanted to name my first boy Benjamin. Your Daddy also decided that he wanted you to have your grandpa's name, Nicholas, as your middle name. This was important to your grandpa.
Happy Halloween!! | Not easy getting three super heroes to smile at the same time. You're all as cute as ever though! (Note: Ben is the Hulk and Aiden is Spider Man; 2 mths old)
A Magical Christmas | We were so excited to wake up with all of you on Christmas morning. Carter was looking forward to giving his little brothers the gifts he chose for them, not to mention those that Santa brought. Our morning began with a laugh when Carter discovered that Santa's plate of cookies was empty. He angrily told his father, "Daddy, you ate all of Santa's cookies!" I guess he thought Santa would stop by during the day!
Note: Ben has the blue pacifier cord. Carter is 3 1/2 years old and the twins are 4 months.
Me thinks you are my glass, and not my brother: I see by you I am a sweet-faced youth. ~William Shakespeare, The Comedy of Errors
Food Fight It turns out that neither of you are crazy about food! Aiden, you seem to prefer the bland stuff like potatoes. Ben, you definitely don't like meat! You remind me of a couple of birds!
 May God Bless You....
Your baptism was held on Easter Sunday, April 24th, 2011 at the Church of the Epiphany in Verdun by Father Patrick. It was a beautiful, sunny day.
Godparents | We chose special people in our lives to be your godparents. Aiden's are Auntie Amy and Uncle Tony. Ben's are Auntie Maria and Uncle Danny.
Camping in Coaticook! | We were determined to let nothing stop us from enjoying this great activity...even having two babies with us!! Well, how can I describe this experience? A beautiful, but rainy weekend... with a touch of stomach flu for Carter and Daddy! (June '11)
More Summer Fun | Camping near Quebec City (July '11) | Ausable Beach (Aug '11)
Brothers | Always remember that your brothers are the most important people in your lives. Friends come and go, but your brothers will always be there for you. Love, support and respect each other. | Ausable beach (Aug.'11)
Carter's 4th Birthday | Dear Carter, every year, we think the same thing: look how big Carter is getting. It was a challenging year for you as you adjusted to being a big brother. We think you found it tough when Mommy's and Daddy's attention became divided, but you did an amazing job. You are growing up to be such a wonderful big brother. We can tell already that you are filled with love and compassion. We are so proud of you Carter Boy. Love always, Mommu. P.S. This year you wanted to be a garbage truck driver when you grow up.
Hooray! It's Aiden's & Ben's Big Day! | Our first year as a family of five flew by! It was a crazy year full of sleepless nights but we survived! It was a definite cause for celebration. Our theme was Dr. Seuss' Thing 1 and Thing 2. We couldn't have asked for better weather. As I reflect on the last year, I can say that I learned that our hearts have an unlimited capacity to love and care for each other. We have become such a good team. I am so excited to see what will unfold for us in years to come.
Note: Ben learned to crawl at 11 mths. and Aiden learned at 11 1/2 mths.
Dear Aiden, My Aiden Bear...you were the one who decided it was time to arrive on this earth. I was so excited to finally meet you. You were so tiny, but that didn't make you any more fragile. You were quite feisty! During your first year, you have shown to be a happy go-lucky kind of boy. You are always smiling and are very content to play on your own. Your favorite thing to do is push your cars around and along the window sill. You tend to be cautious and hold back a little when it comes to physical feats. However, you definitely enjoy socializing and connecting with people. One flash of those gorgeous eyes, and you have anyone captivated. Aiden, always keep that smile. It will help you get through life's greatest challenges. It's okay to be cautious but don't let this stop you from filling your heart's desire. I hope you have the desire to see the world or find whatever makes you happiest. Whatever it is, I have no doubt that you will find it. Oh, baby boy, you are just so sweet. I love you dearly. Love always, Mommy
Dear Benjamin, You were born second. Mommy and Daddy were onlu ever planning on having two children...but you were our bonus. We feel so lucky that you were born. Our family is what it is and we now couldn't imagine it any other way. Baby Ben, what can I say about you? You are one heck of a strong personality. On one hand, you can be a shy, withdrawn guy. On the other hand, you will definitely not give up until you achieve whatever it is you set out for. You always win. That competitive streak is strong. I feel you will never settle for second best. Mommy has a feeling that you will always keep me on the edge of my seat. I will always remember the first time you crawled up the stairs and let out a squeal of joy. You had accomplished a huge feat for yourself. Maybe it should also be mentioned that mommy almost had a heart attack. Always be adventurous, my Ben. Live life on the edge....only a little (be safe)! Oh, and don't forget to take your brothers with you! I love you so much! Love always, Mommy
