 Baby Shower
Mommy's friends Trixie Zimmerman, Wendy McCready and Jean Crundwell threw a shower for us on May 1, 2O1O in Caledonia, ON just two weeks before we were set to move to Saskatoon. There were lots of guests in attendance, and we received lots of cute clothes for me to wear when I arrived. They even had to play games where they tasted baby food!

 My Birth Day 6.26.10
 June 26, 2010 | 11:47 am | Zoe Ellen Klassen | 21 inches | 10 lbs 3 oz
Hi everyone! We are just home from the hospital and couldn't wait to send out a picture and announce the birth of our daughter, Zoe Ellen! Zoe decided to wait and make her appearance as a birthday present for Mommy (as many people predicted!). She arrived on Saturday, June 26th at 11:47 a.m. via c-section after 15 hours of labour and an hour of pushing - stubborn little one, she turned face up just at the end of labour and wouldn't come out the conventional way. In the end I think it was lucky as she weighed in at a whopping 10lbs 3oz and 21 inches. YIKES. I was expecting a big baby, but not THAT big. Her name is rich in meaning for us. Zoe means "life" and Ellen (Kerry's grandmother's name) means "ray of light" or "sunshine." Her gift of life truly is a ray of light in our lives and we are looking forward to the sunshine she will bring after a long stormy 6 years of waiting for her arrival. Thanks for your well-wishes, thoughts and prayers as we adjust to this big blessing. Love, Corwin, Kerry and Zoe | e-mail announcement
 Getting ready to go Home
 Welcome Home Zoe!
 First Month
At two months old I am almost sleeping through the night and am growing a lot. I weigh almost 12lbs and am 23.5 inches tall. I am smiling all the time and have started to coo and laugh a little when people play with me. I went on my first camping trip to the Saskatchewan Landing this month and didn't really like it very much!
 Third Month
I'm three months old! I've perfected my smile over the last two months and I love to swing in my baby swing that Mommy's friends Seanna + Jason Neufeld lent me. Lots of times I take naps in the swing, and it entertains me when Mommy is trying to make supper or do something around the house. I'm 13 lbs 4 oz now, and 24 inches tall.
Fourth Month | My First Halloween
We moved into our new house in September and Daddy spent a LOT of time outside building our fence and deck in October, so Mommy and me spent a LOT of time watching him work. For Halloween, I dressed up as a princess in the costume Rachael Warner (age 9!) from Caledonia sewed for me before I was born.
Fifth Month | My grandparents love me lots. I visited Swift Current and saw Grandpa + Grandma Klassen at their new house. Great Grandma came to see me for the second time too. I see Grandpa + Grandma Graham every week at our family supper! | I tried solid foods for the first time this month too. It was fun!
 My First Christmas
First Road Trip - New Year's in Calgary | We met Grandpa Graham's family for the first time (Great Aunties Janis + Laureen) and Mommy's cousins Melanie + Jena. My cousin, Pepper, was born two days before me!
 January - The 7th Month
At 7 months old I weigh 16 lbs 7 oz and sit up all on my own! I love to eat sweet potatoes and pears, and have lots of fun in my highchair. I'm discovering that my dog Macy is a fun buddy to play with.
When I was 8 months old, I started cutting teeth like crazy, getting six new ones in six weeks. It was a rough month for Mommy + Daddy, and for me, because I didn't sleep much. I also started pulling myself up and doing the "army crawl" to get places I wanted to go. Macy's pink toy Kong was a big motivator for me and I would work really hard to reach it. I weighed 16 lbs 11 oz.
 Ninth Month
This month I started crawling in earnest, along with pulling myself up to standing. For my first Easter we went to Swift Current with all the Klassen cousins. I had so much fun and was completely exhausted!
For Mommy's first Mother's Day, first we took Grandma Graham out for brunch at Uncle Brett's golf club. It was so exciting for Mommy to finally be celebrating this special day after waiting so many years for me to come. We spent the afternoon enjoying the sunny day, going for a walk and playing in the park. Flying through the air in the baby swing was my favourite thing to do, and Mommy + Daddy loved to hear my giggles of glee. It's hard to believe I'm almost 11 months old!
This month has been an adventure in eating. I am learning to feed myself with my fingers, and am also trying out a spoon every once in a while. Corn on the cob is a new favourite food. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I really like playing with my cousin Oliver who is three weeks younger than me.
 funny faces + cheesy grins
The first man a little girl falls in love with is her Daddy | One more week till I turn 1!
Dear Zoe, What a difference a year makes! We can hardly believe how big you have gotten, and how much joy you have brought into our lives. From the time we brought you home, your nickname has been "sunshine" and you have truly brought a lot of sunshine into our lives. We are grateful to be given the chance to be your parents and look forward to watching you grow in the years to come. We love you so much! Love Daddy + Mommy | Our Sunshine Girl - Almost ONE!
