FC: Sadie's Recipe Book

1: "A Message From Memaw" | The things you do in life... do as if you know that God is watching you, because all my life he has watched over me. Words cannot express how proud I am of you.. Sadie I Love You To The Moon And Back

2: Marinated Steaks 2-4 favorite steaks 8 oz. Italian dressing 1 dry pkg. onion or mushroom soup mix 1/2 cup soy sauce Marinate 1-2 days (turning steaks 1-2 times) Carrots, mushrooms, potatoes and sliced onion Tear large piece of foil and place steak, then some of vegetables on top. Make sure to fold ends of foil and seal tight. Place each one on a large baking pan. Bake at 325 for 1 to 2 hours Depending on oven.

3: Chicken Puffs 1 cup chopped chicken 1 tsp. minced onion 1/3 cup grated cheese 2 tbsp. mayonnaise 1 can crescent rolls. Mix and fill rolls. Close ends and Bake at 350 for 20 min.

4: Spaghetti 1 lb. ground beef 1 cup sliced mushrooms 1 jar favorite spaghetti sauce 1 pkg. thick and zesty spaghetti mix 1/2 teaspoon of oregano 8 oz. cooked angel hair Grated Parmesan cheese Cook ground beef and mushrooms. Drain and add spaghetti sauce and mix. Cook on low for 5-10 min. Mix cooked angel hair with sauce. Enjoy!!

5: Chili 1 lb ground beef 1 15 oz. can chili or pinto beans 1 pkg. chili-O seasoning 1 can of stewed tomatoes Brown hamburger and onion. Mix other ingredients in pot and bring to a boil. Add hamburger. Cook 10 minutes. Serve hot with corn chips, grated cheese and sour cream (opt)

6: Pork Chop Casserole Preheat oven to 350 degrees 4 thin pork chops 1 cup uncooked rice 1 can Campbells consomme 1 can Campbells beef broth Put all in a oblong casserole dish and bake for 1 hour and 15 mins.

7: Hamburger Casserole | 1 lb ground beef 3-4 potatoes (cooked & drained) 1 can cream of mushroom 1 tsp minced onion flakes 1/2 to 1 cup grated cheese Slice potatoes and boil until done. Brown hamburger and mix with soup & onions. Layer potatoes, then hamburger mixture., top with cheese. Bake 350 until cheeses is melted.

8: Chicken And Noodles | 1 lb chicken tenderloin (cut in bite size) 5 chicken bouillon cubes 1 tbsp. minced onion flakes 7 oz. small shells or favorite noodle 1 cream of chicken soup 1 small evaporated milk Cook chicken in about 1/2 pot of water with onion and bouillon until almost done. Add noodles & cream of chicken. Cook until creamy (about 10 min) Add milk and cook about 5 more minutes. This is better when it cools for about 30 mins. Grandbabies Love this1

9: Pot Roast 1 2-3lb. beef roast 1 packet of dry ranch dressing mix 1 packet of dry Au Jus mix 1 stick of butter or margarine (unsalted) 4-6 mild banana peppers out of jar Place roast in crock pot. Dump everything on top. Put lid on and cook on low for 6-8 hours..

10: Sweet Potato Casserole | 3 cups sweet potatoes 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 1/2 stick margarine 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 cup milk 1/2 tsp. salt Cook & mash potatoes. Mix all ingredients and pour into oblong dish. For topping, 1/2 cup light brown sugar, 1 cup chopped nuts, 1/3 cup all purpose flour and 1/3 stick margarine. Spread on top. Bake at 350 for 30-35 min.

11: Macaroni & Cheese | 1 (8 oz.) box small shells (cooked) 2 small cans evaporated milk 1 1/2 cups (reg) milk 3 cups of your favorite cheese (grated) (sharp, med & american) 1/2 stick butter 3 eggs & salt & pepper Mix milk, butter and eggs. Add noodles, cheese, salt and pepper (stir well) Pour into greased crock pot. Cook on low for 4 hrs.or cook in covered casserole dish at 350 for 1 hr.

12: 1 bunch broccoli 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1 tsp. minced onion flakes 1 can cream of mushroom 1 cup (or more medium) cheddar cheese 2 slightly beaten eggs Ritz crackers (crushed) Squirt margarine Cook broccoli in water until done and drain. Mix together mayonnaise, soup, onion and eggs. Gently fold in broccoli.. Top with crushed crackers and dot with squirt margarine. Bake uncovered at 350 for 45 minutes. | Broccoli Casserole

13: Pasta Salad 1/2 bag colored noodles 2 cucumbers 2-3 tomatoes 2 grated carrots 1/2 to 1 cup chopped broccoli 1 diced yellow squash (opt) Cook noodles until done, drain & let cool. Mix noodles with cut-up vegies and add your favorite dressing. Better if sets overnight.

14: Potato Salad Peel and dice 4-5 potatoes 1/4 cup mayonnaise (or more) 1-2 Tablespoons mustard (or more) 1-2 Tablespoons dill salad cubes (opt) 1 Tablespoon finely diced onion (opt) 2-3 boiled eggs (boil 8-10 mins.) Cook potatoes until done, drain well. Add all ingredients and salt and pepper. Taste until you get it perfect.

15: Hoe Cakes | Put self rising flour into sifter until full and sift into a bowl. Make a dip in the middle of the flour and add 1 cup milk and about 1/4 cup shortening. Knead with hands until firm enough to pitch off and roll into a biscuit shape. Keep some flour on hands so they won't get sticky. Heat 2-3 tbsp. shortening in frying pan and drop in . Add shortening, as needed. Turn twice. Brown on each side

16: 8 oz. cream cheese (room temperature) 1/2 tsp. garlic powder (or less) 1 Tbsp. mayonnaise 1/2 loaf Roman Meal or wheat bread Small whole kosher dills Trim edges from bread. Mix cream cheese, mayonnaise and garlic together. Lightly spread on each slice of bread. Use paper towel and dry each pickle. Roll bread around pickle and squeeze until bread meets. Wrap each pickle in wax paper and twist ends up good. Chill overnight. Slice each pickle and serve on plate. | Dill Pickle Sandwiches

17: Ham Delights 2 pkg. 24 ct. dinner rolls 6 oz swiss cheese 8 oz sliced Virginia baked ham 1 stick margarine (soften) 1 1/2 tsp. poppy seeds (opt) 1 tsp. minced onion flakes 1 tbsp. mustard 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce Split rolls lengthwise. Mix margarine, onions, mustard, poppy seeds & sauce. Lightly spread on inside top and bottom of roll. Add ham & cheese. and put top back on bread. Gently cut each one & put back in foil roll container. Refrigerate for 2-3 hrs.. Cover with foil and bake at 325 for 15 minutes.

18: Sausage Rotel Dip 1 lb. mild or hot sausage 1 10oz. can Rotel 16oz. Velvetta cheese (diced) Cook sausage until done and drain. add Rotel and cheese. Heat until cheese melts. Serve warm with tortilla chips Donated by Mrs. Joni

19: Buffalo Chicken Dip 1 (8 ounce cream cheese 1-2 cups cooked diced chicken breast 1/2 cup ranch dressing 1/3 to 1/2 cup texas pete 1 cup favorite cheddar cheese (shredded) Beat cream cheese, dressing and hot sauce. Fold in chicken and cheese. Spread into square dish or pie plate. Bake 350 for 15 min. Serve with corn chips or Ritz crackers Donated by Aunt Regina

22: Moist Lemon Cake 1 box lemon cake mix 1 box instant lemon pudding 4 eggs 1 teaspoon lemon extract 1 cup water 1/2 vegetable oil Mix all ingredients until blended. Pour into three greased and floured 9 inch pans. Bake at 325 for 15-20 minutes. Check with cake tester after 15 min. Do not over bake. Next is lemon glaze, then cool whip icing.

23: Lemon Glaze | Juice of 4-6 lemons 1/2 stick margarine (room temperature) 1 cup powdered sugar Beat until smooth. Poke holes in each layer of lemon cake and pour over layers while cake is still warm. Cool completely. Next page is Cool Whip Icing

24: Devil's Food Cake 1 devil's food cake mix 1 small instant chocolate pudding 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1 cup water 4 eggs Blend all ingredients until blended. Pour into three greased and floured 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 325 for 15-20 minutes. Do not over bake. Cool. completely. Use cool whip icing.

25: Cool Whip Icing | 8 oz cool whip 8 oz cream cheese (softened) 1 cup powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla Mix cream cheese & butter until smooth. Add remaining ingredients. Beat until very creamy and put on top of each layer. "My Own Recipe"

26: 1 white cake mix 1 small pkg. strawberry jello 1/2 cup fresh strawberries (chopped) 1/2 cup water 4 eggs 3/4 cup vegetable oil Blend cake mix & oil. Add eggs, jello, strawberries & water. Do not over mix. Pour into three greased & floured 9 in. pans. Bake 325 for 15-20 min. until done. (Glaze) Mix 2 cups chopped fresh strawberries & 1 cup powdered sugar & put on top of each layer. Then icing with cool whip icing. | Strawberry Cake

27: Blueberry Cream Cheese Cake | 8 oz cream cheese 1 can sweeten condensed milk 1/3 cup lemon juice 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 can blueberry pie filling 2 pie shells (cooked & cooled) Whip cream cheese. Add condensed milk. Beat until smooth. Add lemon juice. Beat 2 more minutes. Add vanilla. Mix well. Mixture will thicken. Pour into baked pie shells. Top with pie filling. Chill for several hours before serving.

28: Lemon Pound Cake 2 sticks butter (room temperature) 5 large eggs 1 cup milk 2 tsp. lemon extract 3 1/2 plain flour 1 tsp baking powder Preheat oven to 300 degrees (Continue on next page)

29: Cream butter and shortening, add sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Stir flour and baking powder together. Alternate milk and flour until blended. Add lemon extract. (Do not over mix) Bake in a greased and floured tube pan. 50 mins. to 1 hour. Check with cake tester. Icing 1/2 stick butter, 2 cups confection sugar, 1 tsp lemon extract and 3 Tbs. lemon juice. Mix and put on warm cake.

30: Cherry Yum Yum | 2 pkg. dream whip 1 cup milk 1 cup sugar 8 oz. cream cheese vanilla wafers blueberry or cherry pie filling Mix sugar & cream cheese until creamy. In separate bowl, mix milk and dream whip until stiff, add cream cheese mixture and beat. Layer wafers, cream cheese mixture, then cherry filling (repeat) Then chill.

31: Fruit Cobbler 1 cup sugar 1 cup self rising flour 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 to 1 stick butter Favorite pie filling or 2 cups fresh fruit Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter in casserole dish. Mix sugar, flour, milk and vanilla. Pour into dish with butter. Don't stir. Add fruit and bake for 45 mins to 1 hr. until golden brown.

32: Cheesecake Cupcakes 8 oz. cream cheese 2/3 cups sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat cream cheese until creamy. Add remaining ingredients. Mix until creamy. Place vanilla wafer in muffin paper cups. Fill each cup 2/3 full. Makes 12 cupcakes Bake 15-17 minutes

33: Cherry Cookies 1 cup butter (room temperature) 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/8 teaspoon salt 2 cups all purpose flour 1 10 ounce jar cherries Preheat oven to 375 degrees Combine butter, sugar, vanilla, salt and flour. Batter will be stiff. Stir in cherries. Form into balls. Press down to form cookie. Bake for 15 minutes.

34: One hundred years from now it won't matter what our bank acct. was, how big our house was or what kind of car we drove, but the world might be a little better place because we were important in the life of a child.

35: A Message for "Papa" For 17 years, I have watched you grow, like walking thru the house with your Little Maisy Book and our Sweet Memories of kitchen sink baths! You have brought so much Love and Joy to my heart! You will never know how much I Love You and I'm so very proud of the young adult that you have become!
