1: This Cookbook is inspired by all of the talented cooks in the family. | A Recipe for "A Mother's Love" 2 cups of happiness 5 spoons of pride 2 cups of smiles 1 pound of hugs 1 barrel of giggles 1 pint of promises Sprinkle with 3 heaping tablespoons of patience. Mix all of the above ingredients with Tenderness & Joy. Bake for a lifetime in a warm HEART!

2: Mom | Chicken Wing Dip | 4 cream cheese 1 c. hot sauce 2 chicken breast (finely chopped) 1/2 bag mexican shredded cheese tortilla chips In large saucepan melt the cream cheese and hot sauce. Add the chicken and cheese.

3: "There is no love sincerer than the love of food." ~George Bernard Shaw | Mom | Pizza Dip | 1 cream cheese 1 can pizza sauce 1 8oz. shredded mozzarella cheese 1 pkg. sliced pepperoni Layer in microwave dish. Microwave in 1 minute intervals until melted

4: Mom | Taco Dip | Sour Cream Cream Cheese Packet of Taco Seasoning Shredded Cheese (Cheddar & Montery Jack Jalepeno) Shredded Lettuce Diced Tomato Mix sour cream & cream cheese using mixer. Stir in the seasoning to taste (a little more than half of the packet). Bottom layer is mixture, add cheese, add lettuce, add tomato.

6: 1 young frying chicken 1 tsp. paprika cut in serving pieces 2 tbsp. lemon juice 3 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. flour 2 onions chopped 1 c. sour cream, salt & pepper Saute onions in butter until golden. Add chicken and brown lightly. Add paprika and mix, then the lemon juice. Cover tightly and cook over low heat until tender. Remove chicken to serving dish to keep hot. Skim off excess fat and boil down the stock if there is too much of it. Thicken with flour, season with salt & pepper, blend in the sour cream. Stir constantly over a low flame until thick and smooth. Pour sauce over chicken. Makes 4 servings. | Grandma Aggy's Hungarian Chicken Paprikas

7: 3 c. grated raw potatoes 1-1/2 c. flour 1 egg 1/2 c. shortening 1 tbsp. salt, pinch pepper Mix the ingredients (except fat). Heat the fat in skillet. Drop the thoroughly mixed batter by spoonfuls into skillet and fry on both sides until golden brown. | Grandma Aggy's | Potato Pancakes

8: Cheesy Potatoes 2lb. bag of hash browns (southern style) approx 1/4 to 1/2 chopped onion 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 pint of sour cream 1 10oz shredded cheddar cheese 1/2 c. of melted butter salt & pepper Topping 2 c. crushed corn flakes 1/2 c. of melted butter Combine all ingredients together in large baking dish top with corn flake mixture and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hr.

9: Mom | Chili | 3-28oz cans diced tomatoes 3 cans chili beans 2 lbs hamburg 2 pkgs. chili seasoning mix onion (optional) green pepper (optional)

11: Mom's Chicken Noodle Soup | Boil 3 chicken breasts in large pot. Remove chicken to cool. Add chicken broth or bouillon to taste. Add carrots, celery & potatoes. Add cut/shredded chicken. Add cooked extra wide egg noodles to individual bowls Pour soup over top of noodles.

12: Grandma Aggy's Sour Cream Coffee Cake | Cream together: 1/2 c. margarine 2 eggs 1 c. sugar 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sour cream In another pan mix: 1/4 c. sugar 2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional) Spray 9X13 pan and put 1/2 of dough on bottom and sprinkle sugar & cinnamon over dough. Put rest of dough on top and sprinkle again with sugar & cinnamon mixture. Bake 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

13: 1/2 lb. butter or margarine 1/2 pint sour cream 2-1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. lemon extract or lemon juice 5 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 3 c. flour 1/4 tsp. almond extract 1/4 tsp. baking soda Cream butter or margarine with sugar. Add eggs beating with each addition. Add flavorings and flour sifted with baking soda gradually and alternately with sour cream. Grease & flour baking pan. Bake 325 degrees for 1 hr. & 10 minutes. | Grandma Aggy's Sour Cream Pound Cake

14: Grandma Aggy's Apple Cake 4 c. sliced apples 2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla | 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. oil 2 eggs 3/4 tsp. salt In a large bow break the 2 eggs over 4 c. apples. Mix with fork and add sugar, cinnamon and oil. Then sift flour salt and baking soda to apple mixture. Then stir in vanilla. Place in a 9x13 greased pan. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. | Grandma Aggy

15: Mom | 1 hr | 350 | 1 c. sugar 2 c. flour 1/2 c. butter 1 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 3 mashed bananas Mix together sugar & butter. Add eggs & bananas. In a separate bowl mix together the flour and baking soda. Mix everything together. Pour into baking pan. | Mom | Banana Bread

16: Grandma Betty's Apple Squares | 4 cups flour 2-3 lbs apples 2 eggs Cinnamon 2 tsp baking powder Sugar Margarine | Add enough margarine & cut into flour until blended like crust dough. Roll out 1/2 dough onto cookie sheet. Cut up 2-3 lbs apples into slices and add cinnamon, sugar and bits of margarine to taste. Drop margarine pieces on 1st layer. Roll out 2nd ball of dough and put over apples. With pastry brush, brush dough with beaten egg white and rick top of dough. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.

17: Mom's Impossibly Easy Pumpkin Pie | 3/4 cup sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 cup bisquick 1/2 tsp nutmeg 2 tbsp margarine, softened 1/2 tsp cloves 1 cup evaporated milk 1/8 tsp ginger 2 tsp vanilla {or 3 tsp pumpkin pie spice} 2 eggs beaten 2 cups pumpkin Mix everything (yes, everything!) together and pour into a 10 inch pie tin. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.

18: Carrot Cake | 3 cups grated carrots 2 cups sugar 1 1/2 cup oil 2 tsp baking soda 2 tsp vanilla 4 eggs 2 cups flour 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional) 1 tsp salt 1 cup raisins (optional) 3 tsp cinnamon 1 can crushed pineapple (optional) | Mix everything together. Pour in a greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Icing: 1 stick margarine, softened 6 oz cream cheese, softened 1 lb confectioner's sugar Mix together

20: Santa's Snickers Surprises | 2 sticks butter (softened) 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour (sifted) 1 cup creamy peanut butter 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup light brown sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup sugar 1 pkg Snickers Miniatures 2 eggs Chocolate melting wafers 1 tsp vanilla 1. Combine the butter, peanut butter, and sugars using a mixer on a medium to low speed until light and fluffy. 2. Slowly add eggs and vanilla until thoroughly combined. Then mix in flour, salt and baking soda. 3. Cover and chill dough for 2-3 hours. 4. Unwrap all Snickers Brand Miniatures. 5. Remove dough from refrigerator. Divide into 1 tablespoon pieces and flatten. 6. Place a Snickers Miniature in the center of each piece of dough. 7. Form the dough into a ball around each Snickers Brand Miniature. 8. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 10-12 minutes. 9. Let cookies cool on baking rack or wax paper. (Holiday Hint: Spruce up Santa's surprise with powdered sugar & drizzle melted Milk or Dark Chocolate over the top of each cookie!) Makes about 7 dozen cookies

21: Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownies | 1 box of brownie mix 3/4 cup peanut butter 3 cups confectioners sugar 4 tbsp milk 2 cups chocolate chips (1 bag) 1 stick butter Bake brownies according to box for 9x12 pan size * let brownies cool Mix peanut butter with confectioners sugar and milk * It will be chunky ~ pat on top of brownies Melt chocolate chips and butter in microwave in 30 second intervals until melted * Pour over peanut butter mixture Chill & Enjoy

22: Butter Cookies 1 cup Butter or Margarine 2 cups Flour 1/2 cup Sugar 1 cup Walnuts (optional) Heat oven to 350 degrees Mix everything Roll dough and cut with cookie cutters Place on ungreased cookie sheet Bake 10 ~ 12 minutes

23: Peanut Butter Cookies | 1/2 cup Butter Crisco 1 cup creamy peanut butter 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla | 1 egg 1 tbsp milk 1 1/4 cup flour 3/4 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt | Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cream Crisco, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large bowl at medium speed for one minute. Scrape sides of bowl frequently. Add egg and milk. Beat until well blended. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough into a mound to form cookie. Place 9 to 12 at a time on baking sheets. Leave 2 inches between cookies. Flatten in crisscross pattern with fork dipped in flour. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on baking sheet 2 minutes. Remove to cooking rack. Makes ~ 2 dozen 3 inch cookies

24: Miscellaneous | Mom | Hard boiled Eggs | Place eggs in a saucepan filled with enough cold water to come 1-inch above eggs. Heat rapidly to boiling; remove from heat. Cover and let stand 22 to 24 minutes. Immediately cool eggs in cold water to prevent further cooking.
