13: "There is no love sincerer than the love of a grandmother". Pie Crust 2 cups flour 2/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon shortening 1 teaspoon salt Cold water Blend flour, shortening and salt with pastry blender. Add cold water 1 tablespoon at a time.
14: Sugar Cookies 1 cup sugar 1 cup shortening 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 eggs 1 teaspoon soda 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons baking powder 3 1/2 cups flour 1/3 cup milk Mix sugar, shortening and vanilla in mixing bowl. Add eggs and mix. Add soda, salt and baking powder mix. Add flour and milk alternating. Bake at 350* for 10-12 minutes
15: Grandma's Pecan Tarts | Pecan Tarts Crust 1/2 cup butter, softened 3 oz. package cream cheese 1 cup flour Chill for 1 hour roll into 24 one inch balls and press into tart pan. Filling 3/4 cup pecans 1 egg 3/4 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla
17: Wedding Cookies | 1 Cup butter 1/2 cup powdered sugar 2 1/4 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 to 1/2 cup nuts 1 teaspoon vanilla Refrigerate Roll into balls and bake at 400* for 10 to 12 minutes Roll in powdered sugar
18: Thanksgiving Recipes | Cornbread Dressing Make cornbread crumble into 9x13 pan Saute' 1/2 cube butter, onion, celery. pour over cornbread. Add egg (pour over) Add sage to taste salt and pepper Pour chicken broth to moisten. Bake 350* for 20 minutes | Hamburger Dressing Cook Hamburger In separate pan add 1/2 cube butter, chopped onion, bell pepper, celery saute'. Combine all ingredients in 9x13 pan Add sage to taste egg (pour over) garlic salt toasted bread cut up into cubes. Pour some chicken broth to moisten. Bake 350* for 20 minutes
19: Pumpkin Pie | Makes 2 pies 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 tsp. ground ginger 1/2 tsp. ground cloves 4 large eggs 1 can (29oz.) Libby's pumpkin 2 cans (12 oz) carnation evaporated milk 2 unbaked pie shells Mix sugar, salt, spices in bowl. Beat eggs in large bowl. Stir in pumpkin and sugar spice mixture. Add milk. Pour into pie shells. Bake 425* for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350* bake 40-50 minutes until knife comes out clean. | Grandma's Favorite Holiday
21: 4-H Oatmeal Cookies | 3/4 Cup shortening(1/2 butter 1/2 shortening) 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 cup milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup raisins or nuts or chocolate chips 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour 3 cups oatmeal Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs one at a time beating thoroughly. add flour (dry ingredients) alternately with milk. add vanilla, oats and raisens or chocolate chips. Bake 350* for 15 minutes.
