1: 1920 Fads

2: Crosswords were one type of fad in the 1920s. They started out in newspapers once a week. | Crossword Puzzles

3: Another type of fad were Lincoln Logs. They are like the Lego toys that we have now days. | Lincoln Logs

4: Flag Pole Sitting was a fad the was famous. People would see how long they could sit on the top of a flag pole. The record is over 24 hours. | This is very uncomfortablebut it's for a record.

5: The famous candy PEZ today, was a fad back in the 1920s as well. It was originally used as an alternate to smoking. It had one flavor, peppermint, unlike the huge amount of flavors they have now.

6: Dancing for long periods of time for money, that is a Dance Marathon.

7: Inventions from the 1920s

8: The first automobile was made in the 1920s. Then they started becoming cheaper the longer they were out, so that more families could afford them.

9: The first lie detector was invented during the 1920s as well. Law Enforcement could now tell what was the truth and what was false.

10: The radio was another famous invention from the 1920s. In the late 1920s and early 1930s, the radio was used by FDR to send out his Fireside Chats to help people during the Great Depression.

11: Happy Halloween | The favorite for all generations, Kool-Aid was invented during the 1920s as well. It was a drink that was enjoyed by many and is still being enjoyed now.

12: Let me shed some light on this subject. Alexander Graham Bell, invented the light bulb in the 1920s. It allowed people to see what they were doing without the annoyance of a gas powered lantern.

13: Fashion in the 1920s

14: Dresses were normally worn down to the knee with a hat to top it all off. | women

16: To the women of these times, the women in the 1920s dressed fancy all the time. This photo is what dressing up actually was.

17: Men, wore what was called "knicker, or what we call long shorts. They then wore tall socks to come to the bottom of the knickers. | men

18: This is another common fashion for men. This is what a business man would wear on an everyday basis.

19: Famous People from the 1920s

20: Babe Ruth | One famous person back in the 1920s was the baseball star, Babe Ruth.

21: Al Capone gained his fame during the 1920s as well as all these other stars. | Al Capone

22: The famous jazz artist gained his fame during the roaring 1920s.

23: Albert Einstein | The famous scientist was famous for his inventions during the roaring 1920s.

24: F. Scott Fitzgerald | During the 1920s was also when the famous writer F. Scott Fitzgerald was writing his many novels.
