3: Alamo Historical | The Alamo Is located in San Antonio, TX. It took place in February 23 - March 6, 1836. The leader of the Mexicans was Santa Anna. The Texans only had 100 troops. The Mexicans had 1,500 troops. The Alamo is an awesome place to go visit. It was been turned into a museum. You defiantly should go see it.
4: Big Bend Recreation | Big Bend National Park is located in west Texas. It lies cloes to the Mexican border. It is over 801,163 acres. The Rio Grande runs 244 miles by Big Bend. 450 species of birds, 56 reptile species, 75 species of mammals. Emory peak is the highest mountain there. Big Bend is a must see.
5: Caprock Canyon Landform | Caprock Canyon is a state park located 100 miles southeast of Amarillo. It is 15,313 acres. In Briscoe county, it is the 3rd largest state park in texas. It is on the Caprock Escarpment. It is a must see.
6: Palo Duro Canyon landform | Palo Duro Canyon is the 2nd largest canyon in the country. It is located by thr caprock escarpment. It is in the panhandle. It was formed by the Prarie Dog Town Fork Red River. It has be called the "Grand Canyon of Texas" This is a must see on your visit to the panhandle.
7: El Centro College college | El Centro College is a community college located in downtown Dallas. Its name is Spanish for "the center". They specialize in the medical and technologicol fields. They offer finacial aid. They opened in 1966.
8: Follett Texas city | Follett has a population of 412 people. It is located in Lipscomb County. The Follet Independent School District is there. It is a farming town. Established in 1917. You definatly should visit Follett.
9: Guadelupe Peak landform | Guadelupe Peak is the highest point in Texas. It stands at a towering 8,751 ft. It is located in the Guadelupe mt. range 90 miles east of El Paso. It rises from the floor of the Chihuahuan Desert. You can climb up the mountain on 4.2 mile trail. At the top you will see beautiful views
10: Hidalgo city | Hidalgo is located way north in the Panhandle in Hidalgo County. The population is 11,198. It was established in 1749. It was settled by the Spanish. It was officially named Hidalgo in 1885. Hidalgo is a must see.
11: Padre Island Recreation | Padre Island is the longest barrier island in Texas. It is located on the southern coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Many people enjoy to rent water craft, go kiteboarding, and dolphin watching. It is a popular place for spring break.
12: Lake Jacksonville water | It is located 3 miles southwest of Jacksonville. It is the city's primary water source. It was created in 1957. It is 62 ft deep. Many people enjoy it as a great recreation place.
13: Lake Kickapoo water | It is located in Archer County Texas. It was created in 1947. The lake is 6,200 square acres.It is 48 ft deep. It was named after the Kickapoo tribe that lived here.
14: U.S.S. Lexington historical | Nicknamed the "Blue Ghost" the U.S.S. Lexington is an aircraft carrier. It was used during WW2. On 9/23/1942 it was launched. It is one of the 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers.It was made a National Historic Landmark in 2003
15: Mount Bonnell landform | Also known as Covert park, it offers amazing views. It is located on Lake Austin. It is 780 ft tall. It has been a popular place since 1850. It was recorded as aTexas National Landmark in 1969
16: North Texas University college | North Texas is a 4 year public university. It is located is Denton Tx. It was founded in 1890. They are nicknamed the "Mean Green." Their mascot is the eagle.
17: Onion Creek water | Onion Creek is located in Travis County Texas. People enjoy rafting on the river. Contains limestone formations, and cedar covered hills. McKinney Falls is located on the river.
18: Paris Junior College college | It was founded in 1924. They have a 4000 enrollment. It is located in Greenville, Texas. Their mascot is the dragon. Their colors are green and gold. It is a wonderful school.
19: Quanah city | Quanah is located in Hardeman County. It is 192 miles northwest of Ft. Worth. The population is 3022 people. It was named Quanah for the last Comache chief in the area. It was founded in 1884.
20: Rio Grande water | Rio Grande is the longest river in Texas. It separates Texas and Mexico. It empties into the Gulf or Mexico. It is 1,896 miles long. Many cites use the water to drink and irrigate their fields.
21: Sam Houston Memorial historical | It is located in Huntsville Texas. It began in 1905. It is fun for the whole family. There are many exhibits to see. There are 2 houses on the property that you can see. There is a pond the you can have a picnic by. It is a really fun place to go see.
22: University of Texas college | Founded in 1884. It is the 5th largest college in the country. Their mascot is the longhorn. They are a part of the big 12. It is the biggest college in Texas.
23: Utopia city | The population is 241. It is located in Uvalde County. The population density is 81.6 people per square mile. It is served by the Utopia Independent School District. It is in The beautiful Texas Hill Country.
24: Vernon College college | Vernon is a community college. It is located in Wichita Falls and Vernon Texas. The enrollment is 2,656 students. It is a 2 year college. They have an outstanding rodeo team! It is an excellent college.
25: Wharton County Junior College college | It is located in Wharton, Tx. It is a 2 year. It was founded in 1946. The enrollment is 5,892. The school started with 200 students.
26: XIT Historical muesuem. historical. | The XIT Museum in Dalhart, Texas. The museum displays period artifacts: an early kitchen, parlor, bedroom, an inspirational chapel, dozens of historic photographs, and collections of guns, hats, and cameras. The hours are 9 am to 5 pm Tues to Thurs. The museum is located at 108 East Fifth Street. You can have wedding partys here.
