1: Archipelago | A | Archipelago - An archipelago is a group of islands. -Archipelago comes from the greek word archos = chief, and pelagos = sea. - The Greeks originally used the archipelagos to describe the Agean Sea.

2: B | Bay-A bay is a indent in the land filled with water like the San Francisco bay in San Francisco California.

3: C | A canyon is a gorge with a river in it like the Grand Canyon. | Canyon

4: D | A desert is a dry barren place like the Sahara Desert in Northern Africa | Desert

5: E | a | Escarpment | An escarpment is a steep slope. -escarpments are usually caused by faults -escarpments are not just found on Earth

6: F | Forest - A forest is a large area covered in trees like the Amazon rain forest which is mostly in Brazil.

7: A glacier is a large slowly moving mass of ice. -glaciers hold over three fourths of the Earth's freshwater. -The largest glaciers in the world are ice sheets. | G | Glacier

8: H | Highlands - Highlands are a high mountainous area.

9: Island | I | An island is a piece of land surrounded by water like the Galopagos Islands which are a province of Ecuador.

10: J | fJord- A fJord is a inlet of the sea between two high cliffs. -fjords were most likely formed by glaciers -The most narrow fjord in the world is 250 meters wide.

11: K | laKe - A lake is a body of water surrounded by land. Like Lake Superior in the Northern United States.

12: L | lagoon - A lagoon is a stretch of salt water separated from the ocean by a sandbar or a coral reef.

13: M | marsh - A marsh is a low piece of land that is usually flooded like the Florida, Everglades.

14: N | mountaiN - A mountain is a large elevation in Earth's surface like Mt. Everest.

15: O O | Ocean - An ocean is a large body of water like the Arctic Ocean.
