2: Horses are my favorite animals.
3: Horses are mammals. | Examples of other mammals are cows, giraffes, and pigs.
4: Some horses are tame and some are wild. | Most wild horses gather in groups of 3 to 20.
5: There is only one species of domestic horses. | There are 400 breeds that pull wagons and race.
6: Horses eat hay, grass, and horse treats.
7: Grizzly bears can eat horses. | Wolves and mountain lions can also eat horses.
8: Mother horses are pregnant for about 11 months before giving birth. | Horses can start running shortly after being born.
9: A baby horse is called a foal. It is less than one year old.
10: Young male horses are called colts. | Young female horses are called fillies.
11: At the age of two, the stallion drives the young colts away in the wild. Colts roam with other young males until they make their own group.
12: Domestic horses live around 25 years.
13: You can ride horses, brush them, and put things on their mane and forelock. | Horses are amazing animals!
