namaskra, namast (Hello), My name is Edeline i live in India, i will start you off on your journey around the world.
While you travel, you will learn about the five themes of Geography; location, Human-environment interaction, region, place, and movement.
Before you set off on your magical trip to china, i will tell you a little about the first theme, location. location is very important because it is where something or someone is. Absolute location is specific latitude and longitude coordinates. latitude and longitude are invisible lines that go vertical and horizontal (up and down , and sideways) making up the grids on a map or globe. Where people are can affect what happens and why. California has a lot of earthquakes because its on top of a fault (where tectonic plates move together and apart). Kansas has a lot of tornadoes because the weather there is constantly changing and the land is flat. where you are can change everything. Remember that as you go on to china, Namaste! (Good Bye)
ni hao, I'm Fei Yen. I live in China. I will tell you about the second theme, Human environment interaction.
Everything in the world reacts to something, theres a cause and effect to everything. If you turn on a faucet hooked up to a water source than water comes out. Action and Reaction. Nowhere on earth is there a place in perfect condition. humans leave their marks everywhere all over the world. We change the world around us by building, destroying adding on piece by piece. All cultural landscapes around the world have marks left by humans left over, showing that humans have been there. Each cultural brings their own unique technology and traditions, and the landscape is changed accordingly. People can be changed when thrown into a different culture. On to Germany!
Hallo! (Hello) I live in Germany and my name is Simon. I assume you have come to learn about region? Yes? Well, let the teaching begin!
features are often divided into particular areas, known as regions. To develop descriptions of different regions all over the world, geographers use fieldwork, computable and qualitative methods. Understanding the region helps to understand the information we have about a place and learn more about that place. Onward peasants! Just kidding, but really you have to leave now my mama will be home any minute!
Bonjour! My name is Fredric and i live in France. I heard you've been learning a lot about geography. care to share? No? Maybe some other time than. I'll continue your lessons abroad. Your almost done, just one left after me! your doing such a good job!
The fourth theme is a simple word that can become very complicated. Place. Places all over the world are unique. Every place on earth has a unique characteristics that can be human or physical, one of the reasons for geography is to study the character of a place. By adding a sense of meaning and emotion people develop a sense of place, remembering important events that happened there,or by labeling it with a certain character. It gives us a feeling of "Home". Good luck on the last stop in your journey, back to America with you!
Hey, My names Carson. I live in Kentucky. I'm here to tell you all about the last theme of geography. I hope y'all have had a nice trip around the world but isn't it nice to be home? Well lets get on with it, i don't like to keep people waiting.
Movement, back and forth, side to side. The mobility of people, goods, and ideas across the surface of the planet. Interaction between places depends on two things, distance between the places and the accessibility of places (transportation and communication connectivity). All different kinds of interactions make human geography of the world what it is, and understanding why it is is an important aspect of the global order.
Heres just a few neat pictures of earth:
