FC: Coming to America
1: I was a little 43 year old. I was coming here with my wife Wife and my three kids Drake, Josh and Megan. My name was Walter. It was early Spring in 1911. I was coming from Czech Republic . I had just had my last meal in Czech Republic, Turkey. I was only allowed one suitcase. It took me a while to figure what to pack. But i figured that I should bring clothes and valuables. Also, I had to bring something from home to help me remember Czech Republic. I was very nervous about leaving, but I knew it was for the best.
2: The boat ride was horrible. The boat was rocking, I felt sea sick and worst of all most of the time there was no fresh air. A boat ride may sound fun, but it wasn't. Boats are very different in the olden days. I went up on the deck a lot just to be able to move around. Everybody went up onto the deck as the Statue of Liberty. The medical test had been very scary for considering how old I am. Luckily I passed with no illnesses. They asked me a lot of questions like where did I come from and what do I do. My whole family passed the medical exam, so I was happy.
3: Now I live in New York, New York. I work on a dock now. My kids have gotten married over here. I have move the Bobslan family from Czech to America.I can still remember the day when I steeped onto New York for the first time. Memories, Oh memories.
