FC: Chelsea Brady-Friedt Amee Patel Art 1020 The purpose of my gallery is to exhibit early Italian Renaissance Art. "Renaissance art is the painting, sculpture and decorative arts of that period of European history known as the Renaissance, emerging as a distinct style in Italy in about 1400-1479"

Raphael Sanzio uses bright red color throughout his painting of "Marriage of the Virgin" almost every person in the painting is wearing a red garment. the color red is used as a symbol.

The Birth Of Venus 1486-Sandro Boticeilli Boticelli uses line to imply movement. you can see this by Venus's hair moving in the same direction that the cover the lady on the right is holding. this shows the viewer that there is wind and movement.

Donatello's first sculpture of David is made of marble while the second is made of bronze. in both sculptures Donatello uses the distribution of weight to achieve Balance. both statues show David leaning to one side with his hand on his hip,to achieve balance Donatello had to use a strong base and have the arm opposite of the leg distributed properly for each material(bronze, marble)

The first version of David (1408-1409). Museo Nazionale del Bargello, Florence. Height 191 cm. | Donatello, David (1440s) Museo Nazionale del Bargello h.158 cm

Rhythm can move the viewer visually. in Raffaello Sanzio's Crocefissione(1483-1520) he uses Rhythm to move the viewers eyes from top to bottom. at the top the main subject is Jesus on the cross looking down which then draws the viewers eyes to the people underneath him looking up. this pattern makes a circle in which the viewers eyes flow.

Leonardo Da Vinci Proportion of the human figure | in the drawing of "proportion of the human figure" Da Vanci is showing the viewer Symmetry of the human body. "you can divide the human body in half vertically" in Da Vinci's drawing "there will be an exact correspondence between the left and right side"

Fra Angelico's painting tittled "Transfiguration Domin"(1437-1436) was made by painting on plaster which is called Fresco. "The Transfiguration shows the directness, simplicity and restrained palette typical of these frescoes. Located in a monk's cell at the Convent San' Marco, its apparent purpose is to encourage private devotion.

in Masaccio's Fresco painting of Holy Trinity he used depth & Texture to show the subjects in the front plane of the painting but to also show depth of the building in the backround.along with showing the texture of the columns and trim

in the painting "school of Athens" (1509-1511) by Raffaello Sanzio he uses Two point perspective to show two separate vanishing points on the horizon

Leonardo Da Vanci depicts an implied line in his painting of "Modonna of the Rocks"(1483) although there is not a physical line to create a triangle shape the viewer creates one with their eye movement, which is intentional but not physically there due to subject placement.
