1: Sitting Bull and General Custer | Sitting Bull was an Indian Chief protecting his tribe on the Black Hills territory. General Custer was a general in the U.S army who wanted to purchase the Black Hills land and use it to search for gold.
3: The Treaty of 1868 was between the Navajo Indian tribes and the United States of America. This treaty stated that no white man shall be permitted to settle on any portion of the territory without consent of the Indians. Pertaining to the Black Hills territory
5: The Black Hill Mountains in South Dakota Foreshadowing is used to show that the Indians will fight for their land. | Not all those who wander are lost
7: Red Cloud and Spotted Tail along with many others were Native Americans who fought for their right to the Black Hills land. In 1875 the commissioner of the U.S army realized that the Indians were not going to sell their land no matter what price
8: Since the Indians refused to sell their land and were prepared to fight for their territory the tension between the Indians and the army grew. Soon leading to a war that would significantly affect both groups.

12: The Military war division commanded an invasion of Black Hills to kill "hostile Sioux". The long awaited fight will soon be fought.
