2: Horses are great!
3: Horses are mammals. Examples of mammals: cats, dogs, cows, and pigs.
4: When it gets older it gets ridden by its owner. It sees many new sights.
5: There are 400 species of horses.
6: Horses eat grass, hay, and grain.
7: A wolf might attack a young horse for food.
8: The first horses were tamed by nomads 4000 years ago.
9: Baby horses are called foals. A baby horse starts out trying to stand on its little legs. It learns to drink.
10: A male horse is called a stallion. A female horse is called a mare.
11: Some horses are wild. They gather in groups of 3-20.
12: Today most horses are tame and used for riding and fun.
13: Horses hold a special place in our history and in our hearts.
