S: The Life In the Castle

BC: Our mixbook was about the informational facts about the medieval castles. We used plenty of books to find out what it was like. The books we used are on the Works Cited page. Our topic was on the castle architecture and daily life. Hope you enjoy!

4: GREAT HALL | The great hall was used for many things. | One of those many things were for carrying out business. One of the things they would carry out would be trades! | The king would eat in the Great Hall right in front of the fire to keep warmth while he ate.

5: GREAT HALL | These are the 3 things you would carry out in the Great Hall: 1. Eating 2. Sleeping 3. Carrying Out Business. | Early halls would had a fireplace in the middle of the room.

6: Menu | Fish. | Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. | --- | Beef | --- | Mutton (sheep)

7: Menu | Extras. | Venison (Deer) --- Beef --- Mutton

8: Food | In the medieval times their was not as much food as we have today. | The breakfast in the castle would be bread soaked in ale or wine.

9: The main meal was served at 10 or 11 in the morning. | Beef and mutton (sheep) were the main meat dishes. | Venison (deer) was eaten after a successful hunt. | Fish was served on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

10: Rooms | -Kitchen -Great Hall -Bower -Brewhouse | -Wardrobe -Bakers Oven -Laundry room - Stables | Some of the rooms were;

11: Kitchen | The kitchen was housed in a separate part of the castle. The kitchen would have its own room just in case a accidental fire would occur, the kitchen would burn down, not the whole castle. | The heat for the food would come from a fire.

12: Bakers Oven | The bakers oven was for a baker to cook the bread for the king and queens breakfast the day after.

13: Bower | The bower was intended for the lady of the castle. The bower was just like a dressing room, but it was where the lady would stay.

14: Where were castles located? | Most castles were located on high mountains. | They were on high mountains to oversee battles and the village. | They were on high mountains so armies could not burn down the castles.

15: Essential Question- | What was life like in a castle?

16: Author Page I'm Tatiana Almonte. I own one dog. I have a sister in the ninth grade. My birthday is May 5th. I do gymnastic. I love the color purple. I love my friends and I love going to the mall:)
