1: Building Up Royalty | By: Maddie Stann and Jordan Ferrel
2: Once upon a time, there was a princess named Chloe. She lives in a castle with her father King Phillip in Europe during the middle ages and he just came home from battling another army for land and he won.
3: Her and her family were very busy one afternoon rebuilding their castle.
4: "Dad, don't you think I am old enough for a boyfriend?" The princess said,. "No!" Boomed the King.
5: But one day, the princess met one of the architects who was rebuilding their castle.
6: The architect and Princess Chloe talked all afternoon about how the architect builds castles.
7: "During the 10th Century, castles were built out of stone." Explained the architect.
8: In the 13th century, castles were built from rings of stone walls, one inside the other.
9: "Lords built their castles for protection and as a base for soldiers."
10: " The earliest castles were built from earth and timber."
11: "Wow! I didn't know you knew so much about castles!" said Chloe. "You're amazing!
12: King Phillip always said no to Chloe when she asked to go see the architect after that afternoon. He didn't allow Chloe to have a boyfriend.
13: But one night, Princess Chloe snuck out of the house at exactly midnight to see the architect
14: When she came back the next morning, her father was waiting for her on the sidewalk.
15: "I am very disappointed in you young lady!" yelled King Phillip. "But dad! I finally found a great friend, you just have to meet him first. THen you'll let me have a boyfriend." said Chloe.
16: "Here is a list of things I learned from this guy! You have to let me be his boyfriend!" | 1. Earliest castles were built in the 9th and 10th centuries. 2. Lords built the castles for protection. 3. 10th century castles were made of stone. 4. 13th century castles were made of rings of stone walls.
17: "Fine!" said the king." I will meet the young lad and the deal will be made."
18: The king met the architect and he agreed to the princess. "You may be his girlfriend Chloe." "Yay!" said Chloe with relief.
19: The princess and the architect lived happily ever after in their new stone castle.
