2: G1 (Growth 1), S (Synthesis), G2 (Growth 2) make up Interphase. A cell spends 20 hours in Interphase. | Interphase | 1

3: First Growth Phase | During this phase, a cell grows rapidly, constructs new organelles, and carries out it's routine functions. | 2

4: Synthesis Phase | The cell's DNA is replicated and at the end of this phase, each chromosome has are two sister chromatids, and the centrosome is duplicated. | 3

5: Second Growth Phase | The cell undergoes a period of rapid growth to prepare for mitosis and produces all of the enzymes that the cell will need in order to divide | 4

6: Mitosis | Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase | 5

7: Prophase | DNA molecules are shortened and condensed by coiling to create visible chromosomes, enzymes break down the nuclear membrane and nucleolus so they are no longer visible, and spindle fibers are formed and attach to the chromosomes | 6

8: Metaphase | Spindle fibers attach themselves to the centromeres of the chromosomes and align with the equator of the cell. | 7

9: Anaphase | Spindle fibers shorten and the centromere splits separating the two sister chromatids. | 8

10: Telophase | The chromosomes pairs are pulled to the opposite poles of the cell, the nuclear envelopes and nucleolus reform before the chromosomes uncoil, and the spindle fibers disintegrate | 9

11: Cytokinesis | The cell’s cytoplasm and cell membrane are divided to create two daughter cells by either a cell plate or a cleavage furrow | 10
