FC: CHILD ABUSE
Child abuse is the mistreatment of a child in ways that include neglect, physical contact, emotional abuse, or sexual molestation.
In 2001, there were about 3.25 million reports of child abuse, with an estimation of about 1.1 million children as victims.
Commonly occuring within single-parent families, child abuse does not only take place in the child's home. Other places where it exists are in organizations such as churches, schools, and child care businesses.
What are the causes of child abuse? Some parents do this because their parents abused them as a child or they have some mental illness.
Other aspects that influence their decision are beer and drugs which are taken due to stress. The reasons for drinking or taking drugs could be for situations such as poverty or divorce.
 So why don't they tell?
They don't tell because most are threatened by their abusers so they would be afraid to report it. Because of this, a lot of the kids hide evidence of being abused by wearing long sleeves and pants.
Thankfully, there are child abuse prevention programs which we can contact. One should get in touch with these if he or she is getting abused because it shouldn't hurt to be a child.
