2: The civil war | Nathan DeRoock

3: The telegraph | The telegraph was a large wooden platform with many copper gadgets attached to it with a few wires on it That was used to communicate across long distances faster than sending a letter to someone.

4: Telegraph | During the civil war it was used to send messages to officers quickly to help win battles. It was also used for Abraham Lincoln to be able to give quick commands to his officers straight from his very own office.

5: Telegraph | The purpose of the telegraph was to send messages quickly instead of using letters that could take a long time to reach the person you are trying to contact.

6: we use it still | We use it still today, its called a telephone and its much more advanced now and quicker plus not just a few people have it a bunch of people own one now days.

7: The telephone | The south may have won the war if they had telegraphs or they get a hold of secret messages which i am sure wouldn't have been very hard but we still won.

8: effects of telegraph | lots of operators were killing in battle or were captured by the enemy. Telegraph operators were underpaid and were at risk for doing this line of work because if they were captured they would be interrogated.

9: The telegraphs original purpose! | The telegraphs original purpose was to make communicating much quicker from long distances instead of mail that took several days. It was never planned to be a tool in the war just a simple way of communicating to one another.

10: Abraham and the telegraph | Abraham had a private office he used to send out messages with his personal telegraph and took control of almost all the phone lines for personal and military use to help win the war between the north and the south.

11: Officers | Officers probably didn't like the telegraph because they now had to take direct orders from the president when they were able to disobey him and act like they didn't get the orders in time or something, like a bad dog!
