FC: Abraham Lincoln | By: Jake Bischoff

'A friend is one who has the same enemies as you have." "A house divided against itself cannot stand." "All that i am, or hope to be, i owe to my angel mother." "Be sure to put your feet in the right place, then be firm." | LINCOLN QUOTES

Abe Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809. His parents were Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks. His family was farmers and they lived in a one bed room cabin in Harden County, Kentucky.

While spiting fences and working at a store, he made a big effort to learn more and become as smart as he could. He attended a little school but all his schooling was less than a year altogether.

He married Mary Todd, and the two of them had four children, but only one of them lived to be a teenager. | He was nominated to be a volunteer captain of the Black Hawk War, but his group never made it into the war.

Lincoln was hired into his first state legislature in 1834 where he served four successful terms. | Then in 1860 he was chosen president of the United States by the anti-slavery people.

Abraham Lincoln was the president during the civil war. He was on the anti-slavery side, helping the North try to beat the South. He was a great leader of the North and was influential in their victory.

He had to make the big decisions and had to do what was best for the country even with a lot of criticism. | Lincoln was a big part in the Civil War because he was our president and our leader.

The North benefited a lot from Lincoln because they could always look to him for guidance to lead them. | The South didn't benefit from him, but I think in the long run they did because now the south doesn't have slavery and thats how it should be, but at the time of the war they didn't benefit from him.

It would of been interesting to see what would of happened if Lincoln wasn't | around during the war. the South had really good military leaders so I think the | South would of won it if we didn't have the guidance of Abraham Lincoln!

Abraham Lincoln definitely had a big impact in the war and it would of been a lot different if he wasn't around. who knows who could of been president and how screwed up our country could of been if we didn't have him. He definitely changed our country forever.

Abraham Lincoln is not alive anymore, but he definitely helped us out a ton and will always be remembered as one of our great leaders. | He lead our country though one of our toughest times in our countries history and will always be remembered.

Abraham Lincoln is definitely one of the best leaders our country has ever had, and we honored him by carving his face into a mountain along with some of the other great leaders we have had at Mount Rushmore.
