FC: Desktop Publishing EPIC Vocabulary!!

1: Alignment- Determines how the text is displayed horizontally.

2: First day of school, we are so excited to learn! | Asymmetrical- Not Identical on both sides of a center line.

3: Brochure- A pamphlet or leaflet.

4: Bullets- A heavy dot for marking paragraphs or otherwise calling attention to or itemizing particular sections of text.

5: Business Card- A small card on which is printed business info, such as; name, address, and phone number.

6: Clip-Art- Drawings or illustrations available, as in a book or on a CD-ROM for easy insertion into other material

7: Clipboard- A section of RAM where the computer stores copied, and or cut data.

8: Columns- A vertical group of values within a table.

9: Complementary Colors- A pair of primary or secondary colors that oppose each other on the color wheel.

10: Copy- An imitation, reproduction, or transcript of an original.

11: Cut- Allows you to "cut out" a selection of text or other data and save it to the clipboard.

12: Fill- To make full; put as much as can be held into.

13: Font- A specific typeface of a certain size and style.

14: Footer- A line of info placed at the end of a page for purposes of identification.

15: Header- A line of info placed at the beginning of a page for purposes of identification.

16: Kerning- Refers to the spacing in-between the characters of a font.

17: Layout- An arrangement of a document.

18: Line Spacing- The amount of added vertical spacing between lines of type.

19: Opacity- The transparency of and image.

20: Paste- Allows you to insert data from the clipboard.

21: Pixel- Short for "Picture Element," they are the small dots that make up the images on computer displays.

22: Resizing- To make a different size than it was before; applies to text, pictures, and other features.

23: Template- A file that serves as a starting point for a new document.

24: Text Wrap- How text fits around a picture.

25: Watermark- A faded picture or object in the background.
