FC: Peter's Journey

 By: Ms. Geiger

 Once upon a time...

A young penguin named Peter began a journey to deliver Christmas cookies to his grandmothers house.

Peter's mother reminded him that he needed to be very careful when he was going through the dark woods because many penguins had been chased by Walter, the mean snowman who lived in the dark forest.

This made Peter nervous, but he knew that he would be safe because he was very smart. Peter was more afraid of the rabbits trying to steal his cookies for his dear grandmother. He got a bag for his cookies and headed toward the dark woods.

As Peter started into the woods he heard a noise behind him. He was scared and started to way faster, but penguins can not walk as fast on land. He was hurrying and then he turned to see it was his friend Owl.

Peter was very relieved because Owl was a good friend and he was very wise. Owl asked Peter what he was doing out in the dark woods, he explained he was going to his grandmothers. Owl said he would fly above him to make sure he was safe from the evil snowman.

Peter was happy to have Owl's protection, but he was still afraid. He continued on his way to his grandmothers house when he heard another rustling in the woods. He turned around and what did he see? It was the evil snowman! Peter was so scared and started to run as fast as he could. He fell down into the snow, and as he laid there waiting to be eaten he looked up and saw...

The evil snowman did not look evil. He looked very kind and nice. The snowman looked down onto Peter and said "Little Penguin are you alright?" Peter said quietly, "Yes, I am ok, I just heard that you were an evil snowman so I was afraid. The snowman said that he was not evil, people were just afraid of him because he could talk.

Peter was so relieved that the evil snowman was actually very kind. He even offered to walk with Peter all the way to his grandmother's house. So with Snowman and Owl's help Peter made it safely to his grandmother's house.

Peter's grandmother loved the cookies and was very happy to see her grandson Peter on the Christmas Eve. Grandmother even invited Owl and Snowman to come inside to enjoy the cookies too. Peter was excited to spend time with his grandmother and new friends.
