22: Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
23: Reflection I think that Gawain was courageous for cutting of the knights head even though he knew the consequence. He also was courteous by taking the place of his uncle who was initially challenged. This was kind of like the time that I had to start taking kung fu at the age of two. This wouldn't have been that bad if the other students weren't teenagers. | Summary At Christmas time in the kingdom of king Arthur, the nephew of king Arthur, a knight named Gawain, was enjoying the festivities in Camelot. At dinner on New years Eve, a huge knight who was completely green except for his blood red eyes. He challenges him to a "New Year's Game". If Gawain cut the head off of the knight and came to the Green Chapel the next year for the same thing happen to him then he would be proven as a real knight, and if not he would be a coward. Gawain did this and went to the Chapel the next year. Along the way there were three temptations. He resisted all three and was then spared, injured but spared.
