FC: 2010 - 2011 | 4th Grade Orange City Christian School Mrs. De Groot

3: When the students arrived the evening of the Open House, they discovered that there were no desks in the room. Our first half-day experience was sitting on a circle of chairs. By the next morning, all of the desks were in place and everyone was ready to get to work!

4: We enjoy working with partners. Indoor recess with games and Reeses.

5: We learned about Puppetry from Mrs. Lisa Laird. She showed us many styles of puppets | We performed with our puppets for our Preschool Friends.

6: Harvest Festival Sioux Center | Animals to pet, apple cider to sip, grain to grind, gardens, and jail!

7: Unity Christian Drama / Chapel

10: Mill Creek State Park Pond Community | Mrs. Elyea Teacher for the Day

13: Food Plants | We planted fast growing mustard seeds and watched them grow. We learned how God created plants for the purpose ofr feeding His created pople nad creatures.

14: Pioneer Day Stewing Pumpkin and Churning Butter | Following our reading of Little House in the Big Woods, we were able to experience a little bit of what it would have been like to live dsuring the 1800s and enjoy life the way Laura and her family did.

15: And we churned, and we churned, and we churned,til we finally had butter!

18: We helped our Preschool Friends make Indian Vests.

19: When we finished we read books to them.

20: Sam represented our class in the OCCS Geography Bee.

21: Mrs. Laverman and Trey | Which is the proper way to stack your books in your desk? | **************************************************

22: Preschool Friends! We loved helping them with crafts and reading to them.

23: For Christmas we made Candy Houses.

24: We sang Christmas Carols at Iowa State Bank and the Pioneer Home. Christmas Party in our classroom.

25: We led a worship service at the Pioneer Home. The 4th grade Orchestra played and the class sang songs.

37: Unity students acted out stories for us and our Preschool Friends.

38: We presented our State Research Reports to our class and families.

44: 2011 Tulip Festival Queen and Court | And finally. . . Brooke and Louisiana

45: We looked at a cow's heart, lungs, trachea, and esophagus, to better understand our bodies. | Trooper Vince Kurtz told us of the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

46: K-4 PE Day

48: End of the Year Field Trip to Lemars and Sioux City

49: Sharon's Embroidery where our t-shirts for the K-4 Musical are screen printed.

51: We had fun with the "green screen." | Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs
