BC: I hoped you loved my Mixbook! I worked really hard on this. I't took me about 5 days working on my Mixbook. Now its really ended. BBBYYYEEE!!!

1: People and Places [Language] The official language is Dutch, or Nederlands, which is related to German. Dutch , or Nederlands, which is related to German . | Dutch is also spoken in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. About 500,000 people speak Frisian, the official language of the northeastern province of Friesland, English, German,and French are commonly spoken and taught in secondary schools.

2: History [ Prince William of the Orange ] Prince William of Orange is considered the founder of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Prince William led the fight for Dutch independence against King Phillip II of Spain. King Phillip made - | the Dutch people pay high taxes and wanted to force everyone of his subjects to become catholics. William, a Protestant, built upon army and attacked spanish troops in 1564. This was the beginning of the Eighty Years War. The Netherlands eventually won their indedepnende from Spain, but Prince William never lived to see that happen.

3: A favorite snack for many Dutch kids is black licorice. Although many Dutch kids enjoy sports and being active, there are a number who are becoming overweight. The gov't has begun programs to teach kids to be careful about what they eat. | Lifestyle [Life as a Kid] The Dutch have small but close families. Most have only one or two children. Because so many people live in such a small country, most Dutch live in apartments or small houses. When they are not busy in school, kids like to play on the sidewalk or nearby parks. They enjoy soccer, marbles, and hide and go seek. They also like listening to music or computers.

4: Society [Money and Economy] The Netherlands has a strong economy. Selling flowers - tulips , daffodils , hyacinths, and others - is a big bisiness. Dutch flowers are known all over the world. | The Netherlands also produces meats, cheeses, and other dairy foods . Leading idustries include machinery, chemicals , and construction.Trading and tourism are also important to the economy. Until recently, the currency was the guilden, but like many other European countries, the Netherlands now uses the euro.

5: Meet the Author Hello! My name is Emily. I live in Stillwater NY. I made this Mixbook at my school. Black is my fab. color.I have lots of friends. I love Guinea Pigs. I have a Guinea Pig at my home. Her name is Molly. I also have a dog. He is a pug . His name is Tazzy.I have a big brother. His name is Adam . I give my teacher a present every Holiday. My teachers name is Mr. Bizan. There is a lot more about me but I dont think I can fit all those words. Well thats it . Bye!
