 Index | Biomass | Wind | Solar | Nuclear | Geothermal | Hydropower

 Biomass

Biomass | Biomass is a renewable energy source which comes from decomposing plants and garbage. Sometimes the plant matter or garbage is burned to speed up the process.

 Wind

Wind energy is a renewable energy source often used for electricity, wind energy is harnessed by wind turbines which are often built in flat places to maximize wind.

 Solar

Solar energy is a renewable energy resource that is harnessed by solar panels, sometimes put on roofs of houses. Typical uses are for heating and cooling of buildings

 Nuclear

Nuclear energy is obtained through controlled nuclear reactions. This is usually done by using fission to heat water and then using the steam to produce energy.

 Geothermal

Geothermal energy is energy produced from the heat of the earth. It is renewable and environmentally friendly, but can usually only be harnessed near tectonic plates and can be expensive.

 Hydropower

Hydropower is a renewable resource harnessed from the force of moving water. It is often used to produce hydroelectricity.
