1: Maltese Everlasting | This flower smells like curry. The leaves have many tiny silvery hairs on their surface, and when they are wet, they look green, but when dry they look silvery. The hairs protect the plant for the heavy winds and summer drought from drying up.

2: Alexandres A common cultivated flowering plant. Its flowers are yellow and its fruits are black. Grows in shaded areas in valleys, under trees and disturbed terrain.

3: Barbary Nut Iris Grows in shallow soil in the garigue and countryside. Flowers from March to May. Flowers open in the afternoon, closing at dusk.

4: Blue Hound's Tongue A biennial, medium-tall, multi-flowering plant. The flowers are purple-red in bud form, but change into a blue colour as soon as they open up. They flower from February to May.

5: Borage A plant with several blue star-shaped flowers. The flower is found upside down and hanging, and has 5 sepals and 5 petals. It flowers between January and May. Very commonly found.

6: Branched Asphodel A monocot, perennial plant that grows from underground tubers. Very commonly found throughout the Maltese garigues. Blooms from December to May.

7: Bumble Bee Orchid It grows in Garigue and Rocky habitats. Its flowers are usually found from March to April The orchid mimics a bee.

8: Common Poppy It is an annual herb. It germinates from seeds. The leaves are usually found at the middle or lower part of the stem, thus leaving the flower very conspicuous. The flower has 2 hairy sepals, and 4 very bright red petals.

9: Common Pyramidal Orchid | The colour of the flower is usually an intense violet pink. The flowers are arranged in a distinctive compact pyramidal shape.

10: Crown Daisy An annual plant with large flower heads up to 6 cm in diameter. It is very common in the Maltese Islands. Grows between January and June.

11: Field Gladiolus A common species in the Mediterranean region. Grows in disturbed ground and cultivated fields Its flowering period is from March to May.

12: French Daffodil A Monocot plant that grows from underground bulbs. The plant forms between 4-8 leaves, usually growing in the form of a V. From the middle of the leaves, a tall flowering stalk, carrying 3-12 flowers, grows.

13: Hoary- Rock Rose | A very scarce wild flower found mainly in garrigue It has pinkish red, large flowers that bloom in spring.

14: Large Star of Betlehem | It is a perennial plant. Found growing in rocky habitats, garrigue and valleys. The plant may reach a height of 30-70cm. It flowers from April to May.

15: Maltese Rock-Centuary It is endemic to Malta. It is the national plant of Malta. Its natural habitats are cliffs and coastal valleys.

16: Scarlet Pimpernel | A very common flower found between February and July. Has adapted to a variety of environmental situations..

17: Sea Daffodil The flowers have a pleasing, exotic and very subtle lily scent. The flowers bloom from June to October. Hot Summery days are needed for blooming. It is pollinated by a type of hawk-moth.

18: Southern Dwarf Iris A very rare Iris found in a few garrigue areas. The plant grows a large, solitary and terminal flower. The flower blooms between February and May.

19: Tassel Hyacinth | A common flower found in the Mediterranean region and central Europe. Grows from March to May in steppes and disturbed ground.

20: Wild Artichoke It is a thistle-like plant. Its flowers, stalks and large leaves all bristle with long, sharp spines. Very commonly found from March to June.
