FC: Fort Nisqually Living History Museum Tacoma, Washington | Nisqually is pronounced nis-KWAHL-lee | Partnership between Metro Parks Tacoma and Fort Nisqually Foundation administration, building and ground management, advertising, education, museum store

1: Building & Grounds Marketing Administration Museum is located within Point Defiance, large municipal park with different hours of operation. Information on fort exterior; so always available. | Directional and wayfinding signs are all the same throughout Fort. red background, black boarder, with white lettering.

2: ADA accessible Admission desk. Visitors are given a small brightly colored sticker to wear signifying paid admission. Clean, well maintained, attractive combination visitor center and museum store. Center provides several educational displays on the Fort’s history. Including interactive exhibits and a video with seating. | Admissions Management Education | Military target market: Tacoma is home to Fort Lewis (army), McCord Air Force Base and nearby Bremerton Naval Base.

3: Development Membership Advertising and marketing Education Donation box. Membership applications. Informational brochures. Interactive educational map on wall behind donation box. | Donor board

4: The grounds Hudson's Bay Company outpost built in 1833 Building and Grounds – Admissions – Education – Museum Store | Image from inside the Fort. Visitor center and gift shop. Enter from fenced in area; door on right. Admission permits access to fort interior from middle doorway. Doors are all clearly labeled in red directional signage. Yellow placard on far left door is exhibit label. Exhibit labels are all in yellow. This building was originally the Men’s Dwelling House. | Wheelchair accessibility into historic buildings. | Bastion in background.

5: Visitor center, left. Factors House, center. Building on right is Large Store. In the far corner between the white house and store is one of the Bastions. Building and Grounds | Extreme left is the care takers house; staff only. Immediate right of the care takers house is the Blacksmith; with a working forge - museum gift shop sells the handmade blacksmith products. | Open field outside fort walls. Used for special events and living history re-enactments.
