FC: France in D-Day

1: Charles de Gaulle was the dominant political leader and the figurehead of France. In fact de Gaulle was a French soldier that was wounded and taken prisoner in WWI. Later he became the General of the French Army.

2: Timeline September 3, 1939, France declares war on Germany June 6, 1944, D-Day occurs. Fourth Republic led by Charles de Gaulle. The year 1958, Charles de Gaulle initiates the 5th Republic.

4: Everytime I look at this picture it makes me feel like I am always by your side. The baby is probably bigger than me now! I hope not. | My dear wife, I have been looking at this picture of me, you, and the baby for the past 2 hours. I haven't been able to fall asleep because I am to busy thinking about you. I may be shipping out in the next week or so. We are helping the Americans invade Normandy. They are calling the operation "D-Day" my guess it means "Death Day" well I best be going I will write you soon my love. Love your Husband, Armando Gaulle

5: My dear wife, Sweetheart, please forgive me for not writing back right away. The higher ranks have put so much on me I have had barely any time to eat. We are setting up strategies of how we are going to invade Normandy. The Americans already have their game plan and expect to initiate the invasion soon. Sorry but I must be going, I love you. 6: My Darling, This may be my last night on earth. This letter may be my last I send to you, because tomorrow we are shipping out at 2100 hours. I have made several American friends, but they may not be with me tomorrow. I am praying that this will not be my last letter to you. I love you with all my heart and I will always be with you. 7: These are the main weapons that the French soldiers used in WWII or/and D-Day | These are French tanks. They had to be manually driven. It can hold up to five or more people inside. There is the missile part, and to machine gun parts.

8: This man, Adolf Hitler lead German forces into Dunkirk, France and captured several French soldiers. He almost was assassinated, but failed. Much later after the assassination he committed suicide because he knew that Germany had lost the war and that he would've been captured.
