FC: George Washington
1: George Washington was born in Virginia, Feb. 22, 1732. When he was just eleven years old, his dad died.In 1759, he married Martha Danridge Custis. Before the revolution, he owned a lot of land, a He died on Dec. 14, 1799.
2: In the American Revolution, he served as commander in chief of the colonial forces.He was able to lead many raids on to British camps, which made the British lose quite a few battles.
3: He should be considered a significant figure in history because he helped lead the United States to independence from Britain. He was also the first president of the United States.
5: I think that becoming the first President of the United States was one of his life long accomplishments. He really didn't have any other major life events, but there were quite a few events in his life that helped shape his personality. When he was young, he was good at math, so he became a surveyor. Which is a person who goes out and surveys the land. Washington was a good surveyor who helped map out the wilderness when he was only sixteen years old. This helped him when he was a general because he knew the land. He was an elected delegate to the first Continental Congress, which gave him a position of authority. So, people respected him when he was a general.
6: He reached his success because he was a very hard worker, he persevered, and people looked up to and respected him. Where some generals may have stopped or held back their troops, Washington pushed ahead.
9: George Washington is known as the "father of our country", and a"founding father". He was an amazing man, and when he died the whole country mourned his death.
