FC: The Gilded Age | A very important time in poltics in American Histery | BY: XAVIER GARRETT

1: Chester Arthur | This our 21st president was quite a reformer.Due to his crazy acts in office he was the last president that wasnt up for renomation. The Pendleton Act he made, at first, only effected 10% of the population. Today 90% of the U.S is under the merit system.

2: The Republican Party was about emphasizing national unity, economic modernization, and moral reform. | The Republician and Democatric partes 1970s-1980's were both equally strong.

3: The Democratic Prty never fully agreed to the encominic modernatizon. They mostly supported big bussiness and gold standards.

4: Grover Clevand As our 24th president, Clevand was a people-pleaser.

5: Grover Clevand was won the democratic elction in 1888. Tjis election was during the civil war. He pleased the conservatives by advocating money and reduction of inflation, curbing party patronage, and vetoing government pensions. Grover always skipped military service. He lost the next elcetiom due to him not pleasing his own home state, New York.
