FC: Donna Kamper presents | HapiKamper Photoshop | "making the complex simple" with Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements
1: Welcome to HapiKamper Photoshop | I’m Donna Kamper – I’m here to guide you out of your Photoshop frustration. | Don't hide away your favorite photographs, old or new, because of flaws, large or small. Let me show you how easily you can learn to edit them yourself – or have me do it for you. My motto is “making the complex simple,” and that’s what I can do for you. Perhaps you purchased the program but became frustrated with what was supposed to be “easy.” Maybe you started a project and got bogged down over something that didn’t make sense to you. So many tools, so many options – is it possible you just don’t know where to start? What if you don’t want to “do it yourself?” Commission me to do it for you! What do you want? Restore a treasured old photo? Turn your vacation into a slideshow? Create a memorial service? Any of these and more – just ask!
3: I can teach you to do it... Whether you use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, I can help. I will come to your home or office, or you can bring your laptop to me. No session will be longer than two hours, and you will have a written guide to what we did during the session. I can do it for you... What do you need? Let me know your vision, and I’ll accomplish it for you. I’ll give you a quote – what I’ll do, how long it’ll take, what it’ll cost – then you decide what to do. This book provides examples of what is possible with Photoshop. You’ll find more information about me and my work at the end. Please browse through – and just imagine what we can accomplish together.

26: More about me... | I began using Photoshop because my clients insisted on inserting images into their documents. Then I was hooked. It’s so much fun, I hope it never ends. Since 1995 I’ve shared my enthusiasm and skills in classes at Pima Community College, at workshops and seminars around the country, and in personal sessions one-on-one and in groups. I would love to help you move up a level or two in your photo-editing or other tasks. What went into this book? All photographs were retouched using Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Some were initially adjusted using Adobe Camera Raw and/or Lightroom. PhotoMatix Pro was used for the HDR example. I “changed the weather” by using Akvis’ NatureArt plug-in running under Photoshop CS5. How can you do this? Whether you use a Mac or a PC, with Photoshop or Photoshop Elements you can reproduce almost everything shown in this book. Because with me you learn on your computer, you don’t have to make any adjustments after the lesson. First I meet with you to learn your goals. Do you have a specific project in mind? Is there a deadline? What programs have you used for photo-editing? | What do you want to learn? What kind of photos are you working with? Are your images going to a website? Will they be printed? Both? I limit my instructional sessions to two hours. Any longer than that and it’s easy to be overwhelmed. Then it’s hard to remember what we covered. To prevent that, I leave you with step-by-step directions – and I’m always available by ‘phone or e-mail for questions. Fees Initial consultation: 30 minutes – no charge (preferably in person at your computer) Instructional session: $70 – two hours Commissioned work: $45/hour (billed in 20 minute increments) Note: I discount my session fee for multiple learners. If you live further than 30 minutes one-way from Craycroft/Grant in Tucson, I charge for travel time. I also work with and give instruction in other programs: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom and Corel Painter, among others. Call me or contact me by e-mail. Give me the opportunity to turn you into a HapiKamper. | firstname.lastname@example.org 520/751-0061
27: Testimonials from clients and students | I met Donna at the right time. I was producing a newsletter with Adobe InDesign and and felt crippled by intimidating manuals and learning everything the hard way. Donna lived up to her motto of “making the complex simple.” Her InDesign and Photoshop Elements lessons paid off both for me and my readers. Everything I was doing the hard way became fun instead of a chore. Readers raved about the changes and how much easier the newsletter was to read. I rely on Donna for her candid critiques, encouragement and endless supply of knowledge. I wouldn't be the desktop publisher I am today without her oversight. –Debbie Janson | We first met Donna as students in a Photoshop class she was instructing. We were amazed by her skills and immediately knew we had found someone who could help us create ads for our website. We have continued to use her expertise in developing maps and sharpening old photos for a historical novel. Donna listens carefully to what you are trying to design and works closely with you to assure you are satisfied with the finished project. Soon you will find that she is not working for you, but clearly with you, and offering excellent ideas along the way. We have found her to be creative, prompt and very reasonable. Thank you Donna! –Max and Sharon Atwell tumaxgardenproducts.com. | Donna Kamper has taught me so much I really don't know where to start, but start I will. I've learned Photoshop Elements, Corel Painter and now Photoshop CS5 from her. Her “teach and type” technique allows me to read and study the lessons after she leaves. This is very helpful, especially for a person my age. I am a long-established artist in the galleries and now a digital artist as well. —Cleo Teissedre | Donna Kamper is the first instructor I've ever had who could make me understand Photoshop. She's brilliant and an excellent, patient teacher. I don't need anyone else. –Tomas DeMoss tomas.zenfolio.com | I have Donna on speed-dial. When I’m stuck creating a brochure or postcard, I have peace of mind knowing she’ll straighten everything out. She gets me back to my true love – painting. –Ruth Canada http://www.ruthcanada.com/
