FC: How A Bill Becomes A Law
1: Come up with an idea or a bill.
2: Get a member of congress to sponser your bill. | The bill must be put in the hopper to wait its turn to be looked at.
3: The bill is then assigned a number and refered to a committee. | Then the bill goes to another subcommittee for more analysis.
4: The bill is then considered on the floor. | Then members vote yes, nay, or present on your bill.
5: If the bill passes in the house then it is given to the senate for a similar process. | After it is passed by the senate it is sent to the president.
6: If the president approves then your bill becomes a law. | If the president doesnt approve, he can veto or say no to the bill, then your bill does not become a law.
7: Even if the president has chosen to veto your bill the congress can vote and decide to ovveride the veto.
