FC: WHY AFRICA AND INDIA IS IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY.
What happens when beleif systems of societies and individuals come into conflict? - During the time Europe went into India to colonize their society they also brought with them their religion. This had a long term effect on the future, because it caused many controversies between the Christians and the Hindus, also including the Muslims.. | This picture shows the uprising in India while Europe was in India. It is relative to the essential question because it shows to different religions coming into conflict.
The Spinning wheel is the symbol of Indian Independence. Ghandi told Indians to go back to their old ways after the British band the spinning wheel. Thie picture below shows Ghandi next to an old spinning wheel. | This symbol represents independence for Fawohodie.
What role or pupose does religion serve in a culture? - Religon can make up many elements in a culture. For example in India their rules was based upon their religion. Hindus could not eat or kill cows because it was a sacred animal. Another example is in "Things Fall Apart" when they sacrificed Ikemefuna it was part of their religion and they thought it was right.
In the face of advesity, what causes people to prevail while others fail? - After Britain left Africa they became more dependent on other nations. Because they did not know how to take control after Britain left. | - India prevailed after Britain left. Their education levels began to improve. They made progress in agriculture. After Britain left India became an industrialized state. The picture at the top left shows a child from Africa whos family can not afford enough money to feed him. This shows one of many poverty nationns in Africa. The middle picture shows wealthy people in India. The last picture shows wealthy people in India today. They are fully clothed and they look sophisticated.
Africa as a nation is known as the poorest places on earth. India has not rank very high but they have more than Africa. I think Africa is a very poor continent because they have been set back so many centuries. For example slavery was the biggest set back. It left many unhealthy vilages in Africa. Another set back was European imperealism in Africa. This allowed for the British to have a firm hand on Africa and once they let up, Africa had no idea what was going on.
What can you learn about yourself studying the lives of others? -While the British was in India they of course they taught their history. The Indians that got to go to school learned about Independence. They learned about freedom. This is what they wanted. This is relative to the essential question because while the Indinas were studying something else they learned something about themselves. this picture shows the strength India taking back what was theirs.
What can you learn about yourself studying the lives of others? -In the picture above you will see that Africans are learning. This goes back to the when the British was in Africa they taught their history and the very few africans that could learn wanted independence because they figured if they can have it we can have it.
Africa and India is more alike than unalike. They have both been brutaly handled, they both have been over powered by the British, and lastly they both are now independent.
