FC: Jack And The Bean Stalk By: Keaton,Courtland, and TJ

1: Historical Information | Jack and the beanstalk was written as a burlesque. Which is written to be intended for comedy. The tale most likely arrived with viking boats in England. The earliest edition of the book which has survived is the 1807 book, but most likely in existence before this as well.

2: Historical Information | Many of the jack and the beanstalk books were written in England. The most known version of the story was written by Joseph Jacobs

3: Pursuit of Happiness | The Pursuit of Happiness fallows the theme of rags to riches and Chris Gardner has to work his way to the top to provide for the family just like Jack does for his family.

4: Jack and the Beanstalk Movie | It is a movie based on the fairy tale. It has the same plot but many different scenes to the movie.

5: J.K. Rowling Rags to Riches | In the 1990's she was living on welfare before Harry Potter. Now she is worth over 1 billion dollars.

6: Miracle On Ice | Jack and the bean stalk is a similar situation because Jack was able to defeat the giant just like the underdog Team USA.

7: Jack and the Beanstalk Book | Jack and the Beanstalk has become one of the most well known fairy. It has become a top selling book for children and teaches them there is hope for a better life.

8: Jack- The hero/underdog | Jack and his family is poor and not much is going for them. Jack is able to steal golden hens and bring money to the family.

9: Man that sells beans- Helper/trickster | He tricks Jack into selling him the cow for the magical beans, but also helps him in a way because without doing so Jack would never have went to the giants house.

10: Giant- Monster | He is the antagonist and tries to kill Jack

11: Jack's Mother- Helper | She sends Jack to sell the cow and throws the beans out the window.

12: Giant's Wife- Helper/monster | She hides Jack from the monster but doesn't know he is stealing the eggs

13: Theme | Rags to riches is the theme because Jack is able to go from being poor to rich and the entire story is based on Jack helping the family from stealing from the giant.

14: Motif | A magical bean that is acquired through foolish trading

15: Jack goes into town to sell his families cow to get money for him and his mother, he decides to buy the magical beans instead.

16: Jack's mother throws out the beans causing their magical powers to come alive. Jack decides to climb the beanstalk to see what is up there.

17: Jack steals a golden chicken, golden harp, and a bag of gold from the giants castle and runs away before he can catch him.

18: After being chased by the giant Jack cuts down the beanstalk so the giant cant get him and he never goes up there again.

19: Jack and his mother become rich and wealthy from all the gold he stole from the giant and live happily ever after
