2: John was born in 1902. He left Stanford without a degree in 1925. He wrote a lot of books including The Pearl. He married three women. He died in 1968 after receiving a Nobel Prize in 1962 | John Steinbeck
4: Kino's house | Kino and Juana both lived in a mud and wood hut. | La Paz | The doctor lived within the wealthy parts of the city, and Kino lived in the poor parts of the city.
5: The Doctors House | Setting: This story was based in the nineteenth century.
6: Kino | Juana | -Finder of the pearl. Spouse of Juana and Father of Coyotito. | -Spouse of Kino and mother to Coyotito.
7: Coyotito | Doctor | -Son of Juana and Kino, he got stung by a scorpion | -The doctor is a cruel and fat man. His people have enslaved Kinos race for many years. He treats Coyotitos scorpion sting.
8: Chapter 1 | When Kino woke up he went outside to watch the sun rise. you learn about his songs in his head. Coyotito gets stung by the scorpion. They take the baby to the doctor and ge denied rudely.
9: Chapter 2 | They come back to their hut and laid Coyotito down to rest. Kino and Juana prepared to go pearl hunting. They hunt for awhile and find a big oyster with a beautiful pearl in it.
10: Chapter 3 | Kino, Juana, and Coyotito rowed back to shore after finding the pearl. They look at it for awhile and admire it. Then the priest shows up and asks for money for the church. While he's there Kino has all these visions and dreams about what he will get from this pearl. (money wise)
11: Chapter 4 | Juana, Coyotito, and the whole poor part of the village follows kino to go sell the pearl. When he gets there the pearl buyers offer 1000 pesos and then 1500 pesos when he denies then 1000. He goes back home angry. Later that night he leaves to go kill someone. But before he leaves he hits Juana. But she forgives him.
12: Chapter 5 | Kino wakes up in the night to go and kill the man. He killed the man and came home. The trackers came to his hut, burned it down forcing them to stay at Juan's place, and put a hole in his boat. They also attacked him in the night.
13: chapter 6 | Kino and his family are on the run to the top of a mountain so that he can hide his family. While in the cave of the mountain, coyotito cries out like a coyote. The trackers shot toward the cave and ended up hitting coyotito in the head. Kino killed the trackers. They walk back to the village with the headless baby and throw the pearl out to sea.
