2: Wolves are mean.
3: Wolves are mammals. | Other examples of mammals are deer, giraffes, and lions.
4: Wolves live in packs of up to 20 or more.
5: Wolves are part of 34 related species.
6: Wolves eat meat. They are called carnivores. | They eat deer and bison.
7: Wolves run very fast for short and long distances. | Wolves share their food.
8: Wolves have babies once a year. The mother usually gives birth to four to six pups. This is called a litter.
9: The pups are born blind and deaf. They can see after 10-13 days. | Most pups are born with blue eyes. They change to a yellow-gold.
10: They are raised by both parents.
11: Wild wolves can live for 9 to 10 years.
12: They have an acute sense of sight, smell, and hearing.
