S: Lisa's inner beauty By: Gelisa Taylor
Little Lisa was a sweet and innocent girl that was confused growing up in this dark and conflicted world.
Rebecka herself was dealing with body image, she would tell Lisa that in order to grow up and be succesful in life and find the man of her dreams that she had to be thin, because fat girls didnt get attention.Rebecka was diagnosed with a symptom called Bulimia. She would throw up her food, she rarely slept, and was always weak. Lisa didnt understand her sisters problems but wanted to live the life her sister described.
Lisa wanted to look like the small models and wanted the beauty that she thought came with it. She began to stick her finger down her throat as she saw Rebecka do inorder to achieve the perfect figure. But then Lisa saw how thin Rebecka became to be and noticed that a womens body is not supposed to be that skinny.
She decided not to be confined in the pressure that the world had thrust upon Rebecka.
She knew that she could not allow herself to be subjected to the influences that would led to the destruction of her body.
Instead of paying attention towards her outer apperances and worring about how the world would view her she began to busy herself by playing instruments and getting more involved in school.
Lisa enjoyed her life and influenced Rebecka to do the same. Lisa saw how she helped change her sister and was determined to help other kids and teens who delt with the same problem.
Lisa began to teach others at her school and in her neighbor hood that they didnt have to change their apperances to become accepted into society and that every one is fine the way that they were made. She taught girls that they didnt have to change and to just be their selves
Lisa began to like her imperfections and delt with all the pressure from the media, peers, magazines, and skinny models.
She taught her friends and other young children that they can be proud of who they are and how they look. She sent a message to others letting them know that they dont have to conform to something and somebody that their not. No matter what your imperfections are no bodies perfect.
