1: Birth | Marco Polo was born in 1254 He was born in Venice Italy His father (maffeo) was not there when he was born. Polos mother died of polio soon after she gave birth to him. He then lived most of his childhood with his aunt Flora who taught him to read and write.
2: Travels | Polos father returned when he was 17 to take him on his first trip to Asia.He traveled 1200 miles one way. while in Asia Polo and his father worked as diplomats. When he got to Asia he noticed that Asia was a lot more developed than Europe. On his way back from Asia he traveled 1200 more miles and took a total of 24 years round trip. When he returned to Venice he brought back things like gunpowder witch they used to make fireworks, paper money as an alternative to coins, and coalto start fires. Although the things he brought back were reveloutionary most of Italy rejected his stories and so they nicknamed him the man of a million lies.
3: War and Prison | Upon Polos return he found out that Venice and Genoa were in the middle of a war over dominance. During the war Polo was captured and thrown in prison for reasons unknown. While in prison he told his stories of Asia to his various jail mates.
4: Il Milone | Il Milone was a book that Marco polo wrote. the book was about Marco's travels on the silk road,
5: Death | Marco polo died in 1324 (in the Genoese prison) of natural causes (old age) He was 70 years of age at the time of death
