 Language Arts | Assuage

The foundation of knowledge and exposition, Language arts paves the yellow brick road to success, From short stories to prodigious novels, Simple sentences to elaborate essays. Greek roots lessons fill the end of the week, Laughing warily in the face of sociality. With a glowing metal track and a sacrificial one-way ticket, The train of knowledge never yields to the bystanders who show minute effort. Vocabulary acts as freshly-scented flora: It always has a welcoming aura. Short stories don’t seem to be much of a threat Unless you allow them in your head to seethe, There’s no use in ignoring what they truly mean Be sure to analyze what you read, To ensure you know the basic theme.

Red Roses by Craig Rhodes What a glorious, beauteous day Filled with scented sensations and rosy ranting. A gentle hum fills my ears, Indiscernible on other days but welcoming on this of all others. Follow me, friend, Follow me, foe, And join the celebration of parading emotion. People stand in dazed appall At the tranquility, the serenity of it all; The soothing aura pervading throughout the air: Unified cheers and fiery tears. Joyful spirits jumping fervidly with ease, The levity of old times relived, Remembering the joy brought upon others.

And who could forget, The lost, lonely soul, Tear-stained by the comforting warm fire, Silent, bated breaths guiding a longing heart beating with vigor; Sharing the special holiday with his beloved, A true means for a celebration like no other, For nothing could compare. Why glum? Why sad? For this ardent day of resonating infatuation means more than all, A paragon for its repugnant aspirants. Bouquets teem with the red roses of radiant hope, | Whisper

Breathe | Hearts explode with an emanating lust dreamt of solely in fairy tales, As the striking embers of old spark to life a potent feeling, An emotional flare that protracts past the forgotten antiquity, A soft feeling to surpass all others in magnitude: Mortality.

 Touch | See

Think | Create | Deciding to walk where others walk, Where the remnants of naivety hopelessly lie. Not influenced by taunting talk, I follow my trustworthy heart without an opposing sigh. In my ascent of the limping tree of life, I find a deformed branch strong enough to hold my aspirations To free me from my world of strife, And lead me to new innovations | Self Respect Poem

 Imagine

 Mother's Kitchen

Withered | Ascension | Traversing the white, coffee-stained floors, Guided by her nose, My sister notices the oven and what seems to be in store, Expecting a surprise or something more, She proceeds to open the oven door. She shouts “What a chore!” as she notices the filth the oven bore. Like a hot knife through butter, A malodorous smell makes its way through the clutter Killing the green vegetation that once stood, Leaving behind a plant deceased before its time. With all the courage she can muster, She attempts to clean the rancid oven but is knocked over by the stubborn stench.

 Disgust

Having done all she could, she She starts to understand the futility of her actions, She almost loses hope until a figure appears through dizzy eyes. Suddenly, the figure pops out through the cloud of smell, Her mother has come to save her! “Time for dinner!” her mom yells, “Tonight we’ll be having meatloaf!” My sister collapses on the floor in defeat.

A new chance at life, A fresh start for the freshmen. GSMST gave us so much, A school loaded with lofty classes that float higher than most clouds, Everyone shares the same drive: The adamant urge to learn. Like a magnet with switched poles, This school has formed a completely new personality In the zombies who walk with weighted eyes, In the resident students who created lies. We were provided tools, Unlike those from other schools . We befriended laptops, whom we later found To be the greatest friends of all, Assisting us in our enormous homework mound. The work prepares us for college life, Which will soon become a time without strife. All students coalesce to become a single organism drawn in the same path In this prodigious school of science, technology, and math.
