This is where Rome is, which is the capital of Italy
When you go to Rome with your family it brings you so much closer together with your family. It is so much fun, and it is spectacular. My family, four of my cousins, two of my aunts, one of my uncles, and my grandparents went to Rome.
First of all the reason we went to Rome is because our grandparents fiftieth anniversary. Since our family is from Italy we decided to go there. When ever you have a chance to go to Italy you should do it because it is spectacular.
To start things off we went to the Colosseum Which is about 2000 years old!!! It was the biggest thing I've ever seen. Everything was five times bigger then normal arenas. It is the coolest building I've ever seen. It had arches with old ruff brown rock going all around the outside of the Colosseum.
The inside was also covered in the same old ruff brown rock. We were all talking with each other and having such a great time in the Colosseum. My cousins were helping me see the bottom of the Colosseum. We were all having a great time and it was only the first place
 Inside of the Colosseum
We also saw another very cool and old place. It was the Vatican City. I couldn't believe that it was a country of its own because it is only 0.17 square miles! Inside the Vatican City we went to St. Peters Basilica were the pope was there at the time. All around St. Peters Basilica were Swiss guards that were as stiff as a flag pole. When we were there we were able to see the pope and hear him say the Our Father in Latin.
During the five hour wait I conversed with my brothers and my mom and dad. It was hard to see him when he came out because he had guards all around him the whole time. However I am so happy that I had the chance to be able to see him though. There was so many things inside the Vatican City that we never even got to, and we saw a lot of interesting things.

The next thing I want to talk about is the food. I ate so much food during our trip to Italy. At our hotel there was every kind of breakfast food you could name. Also almost every night we would go out to a restaurant and eat spaghetti, pasta, pizza or bruschetta. When ever I went to a restaurant the first thing that hit me would be the amazing smell of all the food.
Every time I would walk in you could smell the pizza and the spaghetti. I could also hear all the chefs at work talking to one another in their deep Italian accents. When I waited for our food I would talk with my family and listen to all the cool and interesting things they did that day. Lastly the food was amazing in Italy and I never left a restaurant hungry. I think it is physically impossible
To get around Rome we would use coach buses for tours. During our ride on the coach bus I would talk with my cousins and listen to their Ipods. We would also use taxis when we couldn't use the coach buses, or to go to restaurants. If we took a taxi we would usually split of into groups of three.
However we ended up spending more money then we wanted to because they would purposely take us to the wrong place. We would also just walk around Rome to absorb all the places, heritages, and traditions. However we would have to watch out for the gypsies. Like when my dad was cornered by three gypsies holding cardboard sheets. He did escape thankfully.
 Transportation vehicular devices
The last thing I want to talk about is how much fun it is to be with my family. Every morning before we had to leave we would usually play gin (a card game) with our cousins, and our parents would usually talk with our aunts and uncles. We were always with our family in Rome either in the Colosseum or the Vatican.
When I look back at my trip to Italy I notice how good of a relationship I have with my cousins. If I had a chance to go to Italy with my family I would do it in a heart beat. Now I barely even get to see them anymore, and when I do it is so much fun to see them. It is always a fun time to see them and play games with them. So if you have a chance to go to Italy with your family don't pass it up or take it for granted.
