The seasons change because of the tilt of the earth. It orbits the sun on its axis. The seasons change when we are closer to it and when we are further away. Without that tilt of the earth's axis, we wouldn't have any seasons.
If there were not any seasons the areas around the equator would receive the most sun. The northern and southern hemispheres would remain either hot to cold or it would be about the same temperature year round with no seasons.
The Sun is a huge cause of the season. Its heat can evaporate water and also make clouds. The clouds give rain and that starts rain cycle. One of the main factors of the seasons is the rain cycle.
The northern hemisphere's, during the winter, is closer to the sun. Did you know that distance from the sun does not affect a hemisphere seasons.
Each season gives different colors. I see it a lot this time of year.
The color of the leaves on the trees is a great example.
The changing of the seasons as trees start when the tree saves up its food for the colder months. That tree will eventually go slow it’s growing so it doesn’t have to produce as much food just to stay alive.
When leaves go without nutrients from the tree they will begin to change colors until they all fall off.
A tree called a Fir is one of the few tresses that don’t lose their leaves or their color. The Fir tree is on the top the list as the most popular type of tree to use as a Christmas tree. Another tree like the Firs is called the Spruce.
The chemical that gives plants their green color is called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is formed and is housed in the chloroplasts plant cell.
Did you know that chlorophyll doesn’t exist in animals?
Tree starts dying at the end of fall beginning of winter months. When the cold weather starts coming in fall deciduous trees change colors then die but, coniferous trees, Fir and Spruce trees, will stay the same.
When does the time change happen for it to become fall and winter? Have you heard of Day Light savings?
Day light savings for the fall and winter happens every year on the first Sunday in November. This year’s day light savings was on Nov. 7th at 2:00a.m.
The time change of the earth is because a perimeter that goes around the sun. The Earths perimeter is the distance around it so we have bigger night in winter and smaller in the summertime.
It takes about one day for the average person to adjust to each hour of time change. The body is made to adjust to changing seasons. It takes more energy to increase the body’s circulation and to continue to keep the organs warm and functioning.
If I were make a drastic change in my personal climate I will begin to put myself at risk to sickness by lowering your immune system. In the fall, people start preparing for the winter and in the winter homes, kids, and schools are preparing for the long, cold months ahead.
