2: Two summers ago, I began working at an ice cream shop called The Chubby Seagull, and am still employed there today. | Traveling is something that I enjoy immensely, and that I have always done. I am fortunate enough to have traveled a lot when I was younger with my parents and my brother. For me, seeing different cultures and customs is the most exciting part of traveling. | Education has always been important to me, because I realize that without it, we would not have such a developed world. For this reason, I hope to be an educator someday.

For this reason, Key Club and the Kiwanis organization have been a large part of my life and what I do with my spare time. The feeling of satisfaction that I get from doing something helpful for others is one of the best I've ever felt. | Three years ago, I was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. My Christianity is also a part of who I am, which is why a cross is representative of me.
4: Selflessness is a big thing for me. If you lack the ability to be selfless, you will never be able to experience the feeling of satisfaction that you receive when you have done something selfless for another person | I believe in marriage equality. That is to say, I believe that love is love, no matter the gender. I also feel that the matter of marriage for gay couples does not belong in the hands of legislators, but in the hands of the couples who wish to be married just like any heterosexual couple. | Positivity is another value of mine. I feel that any given day, we are faced with things that can bring us down, but letting them get to us is no way to live. If you let the bad things upset you every day, you will never experience the joy of being positive
5: Each school day, I spend two hours in a kindergarten classroom at Woodland Elementary, assisting with the learning of two specific students. This is rewarding for me because not only do I get to help these students, but I am also learning what it means to be an educator in the process. | Five days a week, I go to school, where I have the chance to learn, see my friends, and talk to classmates. I'm appreciative of the opportunity to go to school, because so much is provided for me, and it allows me to spend time with friends.
6: My phone is important to me because it allows me to communicate with friends and family, as well as keep up with those I rarely see. It also provides a sense of safety for me, because I know I have a way of contacting 911 if ever necessary. | Books are important to me because they can provide a variety of different things. They can educate and inform, or entertain and captivate a reader. I enjoy reading books for pleasure because they can allow you to travel without ever really leaving your seat.
7: In our culture, jeans are almost considered a staple in terms of clothing. I wear jeans very often because they are comfortable and practical. | Music is very important to me for self-expression, and my iPod allows me to enjoy the music that I like to listen to. | Computers are very useful because they act as many different tools all combined into one piece of technology. My computer allows me to research topics I'd like to know more about, communicate with friends and family via social networking, and it can entertain me too with games or websites.
8: I was born in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. This is where I lived for the first two years of my life, and is also where many of my relatives live to this day. | At the age of two, my family moved to Flower Mound, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. I lived in Flower Mound for four years, and still keep in touch with friends there today. | During the Civil War, my Great-Great-Grandfather, John F. Hill, was an eagle bearer of the famous Union mascot, Old Abe the War Eagle.
9: Cross country- and running in general- is something that I enjoy doing. I joined cross country my junior year, and wish that I had started sooner because I enjoyed the team and the friendships so much. | My friends and family are very important to me, because I enjoy spending time with them, and they support me and make me happy.
