FC: Pursuit of Truth

1: Socrates was a Greek Philosopher in 469 BC – 399 BC. he believed in finding the truth through questions and debates. and he spread his knowledge of the truth through his teachings of Plato and then Plato's teaching of Aristotle

3: Socrates pioneered the study of ethics to limit peoples un-ethical approaches to find truth in the world and even today we use ethics to stop people from dis-respecting someone.

4: Socrates developed the method of debate and discussion to arrive at truth and this method is used by most students today

5: Socrates publicly dismissed the popular method of discovering truth with gods and he instead used logic and philosophy to discover the truth

6: " Socrates dismissed the Greek religion and for this he faced death. And at death he gave one last speech to his students and he kept by his bold declaration even after threats of death and this pursuit of knowledge even t the death is what makes Socrates' philosophies so popular today

8: Socrates felt that he needed to spread his vast knowledge through teaching and through debate and discussion and his prized student Plato. Plato used is philosophy skills learned from Socrates and he wrote the Republic where he proposed the perfect government and this government was later used by the Romans and the Romans came to amass the greatest wealth of all time

9: And Plato following in his teachers foot steps, taught his prized student Aristotle. Aristotle didn't go into philosophy as Socrates did nor did he go into government but he made advancements in almost all categories of knowledge and he spread his finding of the truth by tutoring Alexander the great who became to conquer the 2nd largest empire

10: Socrates pursed the truth through debate and teaching, but not through religion like most Greek philosophers at that time and this allowed him to evolve the truth of what the world is into his opinion.
