2: Biography Sophie Scholl is the daughter of Robert Scholl, the mayor of Forchtenberg. She was born on May 9th, 1921. Sophie had joined the Hitler Youth in 1933, at the age of 12 when her family moved to Ulm. she became very critical of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi government. In 1940, Sophie had become a kindergarten teacher at the Frobel Institue in Ulm- Soflingen after leaving school. After that, in auxiliary war service she became a nursery teacher in Blumberg for 6 months. In 1942, she entered the University of Munich and became a student off biology and philosophy. Later that year her father was imprisoned for say 'this Hitler is God''s scourge on mankind, and if this war doesn't end soon the Russians will be sitting in Berlin" to one of his employees. In that summer she, her brothers, and friends had formed White Rose, a non- resistance group which also included Hans Scholl, Christoph Probst, Alexander Schmorell, Willi Graf, and Kurt Huber, their philosophy professor.

3: They had included that the Nazi system had become evil and that Germans should rise up and resist the tyranny of their government. 'They successfully distributed five separate issues, upon the distribution of the sixth, on February 18,1943, Sophie and Hans scattered their pamphlets at the university, where they were observed by the custodian, a member of the Nazi party, and were reported.' On February 21,1943 Sophie, Hans and Christoph Probst were brought before the notorious People's court. Within hours all three were found guilty of treason and condemned to death. On February 22, 1943, at 5:00 in the evening, they were executed by guillotine in Munich's Stadelheim Prison. 'After their deaths,a copy of their sixth leaflet was smuggled out of Germany to England. 17: Key Battle in the War- Atlantic It had last from September 1939 to May 1945. Britain was an island so it needed a lot of food and military equipment to survive the war. The U-boats severely damaged our ability the warhence. A great deal of our raw materials came from America and therefore had to cross the Atlantic. A real threat was the leader of the German submarines named Admiral Raeder. British supply ships crossed in convoys and the ships that brought in our food etc. were slow and they could barely protect themselves. They were more safe when the approached British waters, could give the ships fighter plane cover. It was in the mid- Atlantic that we were at our most vulnerable and where to start with the U-boats could run riot. German submarines had direct access to the Atlantic once France had fallen in the spring of 1940.

19: Conclusion Sophie Scholl had impacted history because she was a member of the White Rose movement that was formed in Nazi Germany during World War ll. She and others were anti- Nazi and therefore anti-Hitler. She wanted to prove to everyone one that he was a bad ruler, but had gotten executed.
