The Civil War - Page Text Content

FC: The Slave Trade Colette Anderson

Slavery is a system based on enslaved labor. The practice of, or a system based on, using the enforced labor of other people.

Northern leaders decided that the South's plans to take over the Mississippi River and the West was unacceptable. This led to the outbreak of the Civil War, which would get rid of slavery in America.

Slavery was a big part of the Civil War. Lincoln wrote that he would win the war to save the Union, but he would also do it for the slaves.

The slaves benefited the most, and the North also did because they won the war. The South and the slave owners did not benefit because they lost the war and their slaves.

If the Slave Trade was never around during the Civil War, there would never even be a war. Lincoln fought for the Union and the slaves.

Life during the Civil War would definitely be different without the Slave Trade because there wouldn't be problems with runaway slaves and the war probably wouldn't happen.

The Slave Trade is not around today because a law was set against slavery, so now all people are equal and there is no slavery today.

 Wales, Jimmy. "Wikipedia". Monday-Friday .
